Those who don the terracotta-coloured raiment of Redoran Watch assume the duty of patrolling the ash-swept paths and crag-ridden expanses of north-western Morrowind (both on Vvardenfell and on the mainland). They wear this peculiar kind of helmet that, despite its elven extravagancies—the thing looks like a crab shell — reminded me of one of those jousting helms they have back in Highrock. I assume Redoran Watch to be a cavalry unit. Yes they do ride horses in some parts of Morrowind, but the Dunmer rather prefer their native monsters as steeds— for one, those can forage for themselves in barren ash-dunes and the like places. There's this one half-insectoid creature called Nix-Hound — looks like a muscular quadrupedal mosquito and is large enough for a lightly armoured warrior to ride. Guards, pilgrims,rangers and bandits actually prefer it to the hulking Guar. Alas the beast has a very pronounced "hopping" gait — makes it difficult to use a lance. A saber would be the weapon of choice in this case.
