Finally updated from 10.04 from 9.04!!!! It took me several hours to get everything back to the way it was before the update but it was so worth it. I can finally use wifi at my school now (it didnt work for some odd reason in 9.04). And I love Google Chrome!!!! I am going to try it out for a few more weeks to see if it is a suitable replacement for firefox. Firefox was completely screwed up after the update. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. reinstalling doesnt seem to help :/ but no matter, Im liking chrome better.Anyways, slightly different conky and a new panel. For anyone who is wondering, the panel is actually incorporated into the wallpaper. The "real" panel is 100%transparent and has shadows disabled.

You got conky and Compiz. How to disable conky shadows? I got conky too and there is a shadow around the conky window... Can you help me? Your panel is awesome. What is your GTK-theme?

sys>pref>compiz config manager (install if if you havent alredy) click on the "window decoration" button. under shadow windows put in "(any) & !(class=Conky)" without the quotes.
You can also put in "class=Conky" under the opacity button and select a number (I use 50 which means its 50% transparent) to make it opaque (see through) like I did.

You can set the Shadow Windows option in CCSM Window Decorations from "any" to "any & !(type=dock)" to remove the shadow from the panel.
and to make the panel itself transparentyou just right click on it>properties>bg tab> solid color> and drag the slider till its transparent
