Description
These may not look like the stereotypical Husky that everyone thinks pulls the sleds in Alaska. That's because these dogs are actually mutts. They are bred as mutts on purpose, in order for them to have the most endurance, strength, and speed as possible to compete in the Iditarod races. The dog camp is located on top of Mendenhall Glacier, and the tourists are welcome to ride the sleds, as it gives the dogs some serious strength training. Just some background info in case you were interested.Related content

Thank you for your comment. You are right about there being a breed of Alaskan or Indian Huskies, but I did ask the trainers about the dogs since so many of them looked nothing like Huskies. They told me that they were purposely bred with different breeds in them in order to have as many strengths as possible. I'm just going by what the trainers in Alaska told me. Perhaps some of them were Huskies, but I'm sure they were not purebred. I checked out your gallery, and see that you must have a love for animals. Very cute I liked it.

Nice. =] They aren't actually mutts, they have a breed called Alaskan or Indian Huskies. Good shot, though.
