My goodness, you have no idea how flattering and wonderful it is to hear that from you... What a treat! But I would say you are already capable of much higher quality work than this! It would be a real treat if you should ever jump back into the Sonic the Hedgehog fandom again, but your work of any subject matter has always been a gem. Thank you for such a comment (though I hope your first sentence was in jest, heh)!

Please do!! Your gallery always gets me back into the adventurous aspect of the series, which is a disturbingly major feat, because the last time I ever wanted to have both feet in that crucial part of the franchise, I was an adolescent playing the Dreamcast classics and making old adventure comics out of them. The "new generation" series itself couldn't even inspire me to get back into that; I just still half-liked the characters.

I agree, there's something about the newer games that, despite the series' (arguable) inclination back to greatness, is lacking the magic of some of the older games. My view on this is that SEGA would rather inject new characters into the series rather than delving into relationships and qualities of the beloved existing characters. We don't see depth to Sonic or his friends anymore! That and after the critical failure of Sonic 2006, it's painfully obvious that they're scared to take shots at "deep" storylines anymore.
Whatever it is that you see in my work that is able to offer you that inspiration, I sure as heck hope I can keep it up, even if only for one person, especially that person being you! :') I'm so happy to hear that!

Don't worry about the frequency of your communication; you do what you need to do, and at your own pace, girl!

That makes a lot of sense! I didn't put it together like that. The new generation not really having the same "not afraid to push new buttons" feel really helps me understand why it was nearly impossible for me to ever get back into the franchise "that way again."At the time, I was resentful.

But I was honestly never able to understand why I couldn't create fan art around "the actual point" of the series in my high school years.... Or why my love for it, and the series, was never rekindled after SA2. I thought it was because I exhausted "the point" in my elementary and middle school years until I was burning five-hundred tablets of "new Sonic Adventure game plots" in my garage.
The only thing that got me back into the fandom, when I first brought A Shadow's Little Light to DA, was a very dark fan-fiction about Shadow that I stumbled on while I was into Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray and my own Emilie Autumn life, and suddenly I "rekindled" enough admiration for the select few canon personalities that I could turn into H.P. Lovecraft/Edgar Allan Poe cast members! And even then, I don't think I could've called myself a Sonic fan. I probably still can't.

What I see in your work is my original childhood, which is something I didn't feel or have when I jumped back into the fanbase at a teenaged...age! And I'm pretty sure this is why so many people enjoy your gallery. You and *missyuna . Anyone can draw well; it's not a rare gem to find. It's what you draw and the actual subject matter that makes people love a certain artist, I'd say, and everyone should love being reminded of their childhood.

I see, a lot of what drives you to create your work contains a good amount of depth and complexity? Then I can see why you eventually left the Sonic fandom. It's understandable!

I'd never outright thought of it that way, but subconsciously so. You're completely right! I'd take it that a lot of people are inspired in this very way, myself included.
