Description

I wanted to do a Sonic SatAM style robotization drawing for a while, and decided to write a short story for it as well! I don't have much experience in writing so I apologize beforehand if there are any mistakes in the story. Let me know what you think!

It felt like it was the most beautiful day ever when two friends Maisie and Cora decided to wander into the forest a little too far. Their little trip was cut short when they realized they were in over their heads and surrounded by Swat-Bots in a matter of seconds. The apprehended Mobian women were immediately brought into Robotropolis, where even in this lovely morning the sky was cloudy and black, and air smelled like oil and chemicals. As Swat-Bots escorted them to their cells, not a single cell was occupied. They were the only ones. To this day, they had only heard stories, but they knew the fate that was awaiting them. There was no escape. Hours of contemplation made them even think that "Maybe it wouldn't be so bad?" at some point. But it was. Soon they were going to be stripped off themselves. A prisoner in their own bodies.
And so it was time, they heard Swat-Bots marching toward them. One unlocked the cell and commanded them to move out. They abided and Swat-Bots started escorting them once again. They arrived to their final destination: the Robotization Chamber. Suddenly a screen turned on, it was the metallic-hearted Dr. Robotnik. Robotnik took pride in his work, and wanted to personally witness the process. Creating a new robotic servant was always a most entertaining activity to him.
"Greetings ladies" he said in his sinister voice. "I am quite happy to welcome you to my kingdom. I have no doubt that you two will be model citizens. You just need a little make-over. Shall we proceed?"
"We will be model citizens, we really appreciate what you do here, you don't need to change us, really!" Maisie said.
Robotnik smirked. "Ah, it's nice to hear you do, but you'll only be able to truly appreciate it when you become a part of it. Start with that one!" Robotnik said looking at Cora. Cora showed no resistance as the Swat-Bots put her inside the chamber. Maisie was looking at her, and was surprised at her friend's submissive state. She was looking broken.
"Activate" Robotnik said from the screen. A yellow light appeared above Cora, and the machine emitted a humming sound. Her limbs suddenly started to transform with metallic, clanging noises. Maisie was watching in terror as her friend became more and more a robotic slave. The transformation finalized as Cora's head became fully metallic and the yellow light started to fade. Maisie was eager to hear her friend talk, she was deep inside expecting her to somehow resist the mind control and be herself still.
Her dreams were short lived when Cora finally spoke. "All systems functional. Unit-2799 is online. Awaiting new designation and orders."
Robotnik quietly laughed. "Excellent. Excellent. Step off the chamber and go near the prisoner." Then he turned to Maisie. "Marvelous, isn't she? You may inspect her closely until we reset the chamber for you, dear. I promise it won't take long. Hehehe!"
Maisie looked Cora in her lifeless, green glowy eyes. "Cora? Say something! This can't be it!""
"Quiet while waiting for your robotization process, organic. Stay still and do as you are told." said Cora, in her new robotic voice.
"Is there nothing of you left? Nothing back in the forest we saw just this morning? None of the time we spent together?"
"You are a prisoner of Doctor Robotnic. Obligatory protocol dictates all prisoners are to be roboticized. You are to stay quiet and cooperative until your robotization process takes place. Now do as you are said, I will not warn you again."
Maisie stepped back from the robot that once she knew as her friend. She bumped into a Swat-Bot while taking steps back. The Swat-Bot immediately grabbed Maisie from the back, and the room was silent for a while until she and Robotnik engaged into eye contact through the screen.
"The roboticizer is ready" said the robot on the control panel.
Robotnik smirked once again. "Unit-2799, if you please."
