Hi guys!2016 was a slow slow year artwise.
I created far less then in previous years. But on the upside I'm working out a new painting style for myself since about May!Β
I was in a real slump until that - my lineart celllshaded drawing never wanted to look like I wanted them too, it was roo rigid, I had real troubles with choosing interesting colors - general shitshow.
When I switched to painted peiecs I'm much more pleased with my art now - they may take longer but I don't have to make lineart, I can keep some of my sketches dynamism as I paint right on top of it and the colors started to flow nicer.
Also it's better for my wrist I think (not doing a highly detailed lineart that is )
Thanks to OCPageant I drew quite a bit of illustrations with Iisjah - so thats a big plus. Also some Steven Universe <3, gifts and commissions (those just a few as I barely have the mental capacity to draw for myself, drawing for others is too much right now)
Got even worse with interacting with you guys D: I'm really sorry.
2017 hopefully will have a bit more art than this one had or at least moderate amount in good quality.

The more art summaries I see the more it seems 2016 was similarly meh for everyone (at least in my friend circles)... I think there's definitely a lot you can be proud of here - your OCPageant entires and especially how you sensed you had a problem with yours art and found a way to change it and GOT EVEN BETTER.

Yeah I think so - the stars were not in the art position this year for anyone xD
Oh yeah but I had issues with my art for at least a year before I tried to change. General stiffness and difficulty with colors were issues, and I think the history round pushed me to the limit with how irritated I was at my style. I think I've spent two or three days with deciding on colors alone. Now I think it's just the rigidness of that style that killed me - I got wrist pains just thinking about it now xDΒ
I should try sometime to try to do a loose lineart like I really like on other peoples works sometime in the future - maybe I'll be able to do it after training myself in painting like I do now.
Hahha but thank you! I really reeeaaly enjoy it better now and I think it looks better too! 
Traditional comics are awesome too - nothing wrong with sticking to what you know best when doing something like a comic!
But yeah - finding what's bugging you about the style is a big thing.
Yeah let's hope 2017 ill be better!

Yeah, it's kind of how I've felt lately... Not to the wrist pain point but working on the pages seemed like constantly pushing something uphill lately, and at this point I'm still not sure how much of this is me falling out of habit of making pages regularly or something to do with how I do things.
It's really reassuring seeing you work though it and get even better!

Your work is amazing, and that your illustrations connected features of the story, it just all added up to one great project. Β Are you thinking to print this out as a hard-copy 'thing' at any time??????
