I've had this one in my stacks for a while, and I kept coming back
to it because there was something about it that didn't resolve.
(There are lots of photos of this type on dA, as you know.)
This morning it finally "clicked."
The title is what made the difference for me, and the title is
what makes this a brilliant example of what is otherwise just
a genre photo.
SO ROW as an assertion makes me consider this as a photo of
a reflection of the birds on water. That would account for the
odd angle of the shot (which looks like it's been tilted 90 degrees).
There's no ROW of birds or branches, but ROW can also refer to
STITCHES. One of the bird silhouettes has been STITCHED by a
sharp branch, and thus the SO ROW (SORROW with the missing
R). That branch that has pierced the bird connects with the
second line of the poem.
The missing R is also pronounced RO in its Greek version (P) and
the piercing branch leads up to an angular P shape made by
branches. A lower case R - r - looks sort of like one of your bird
silhouettes.
And finally, if one SEES (Cs) the empty space, it provides the
letter that gives us a CROW.
Anyway, all of this came together very quickly when this photo
"clicked" for me today. Cheers!

nice to know how many things can be seen in such minimalistic composition, thanks for sharing your points of view.
