GODDAMMIT. Why are these old Sonic shows so freakin' influential? Yes, I've started to watch Sonic Underground again. The verdict? Its not a wretched show in my opinion, but it really needed to back off of the music and moral lessons. I honestly can't stand the really weak plot either. Watch it to see what I'm talking about, because the entire series is on Youtube and Netflix. Number of episodes? 40. They didn't even finish it. Woooow, it must've failed.Anyway, I drew Manic and Sonia, two of the most loved "scrapped" characters from the Sonic fanchise. They're not official, and they're no where near my favorites list, but they're still pretty memorable (not in the best way though). I just felt like drawing them because its been like a couple years since I last did. Why not?
I also don't get why the hell Manic is popular with the fangirls, and Sonia is paired with other official characters. Can someone explain that to me, because I can't pair these two up with anyone... or find them attractive, really.

These characters had potential in my honest opinion, but I felt like the writers were real lazy as well as tried to simplify the best they could since everyone assumes all children are simple-minded... And the show had that same potential as well if the writers cared more about it... I agree that the show didn't need a song in every episode as well as a moral because they just don't happen as often as they did in the show.
As far as Manic being so popular with fangirls... well... He's a street rat who was trained to be a thief and has a tear jerking past, and somehow through all of that he's still a good kid though is a kleptomaniac, but still sort of is kind of mischievous because of his murky past - that is a stereotype that fangirls fall for... So I'm not surprised that he has a mass of fangirls as well as fanbased pairings...
And as far as Sonia being paired with other official characters... well... Sonia is the kind of girl who likes cute guys and even is kind of flirt *I don't see her as the type to fall in love with the first attractive guy she sees like they had her do in the show, or that she is automatically paired with certain official guys because she's the main female role >3>* not to mention she's supposed to be a very attractive female to a point where I could see her kind of having a few romances with other official male characters, but only if it worked to happening instead of: "Hey let's just pair her up with any attractive guy herp derp!" *And don't get me started on knuxonia because that was a stupid plotline and personally I only pair her with the only guy she was really supposed to be with which was Bartleby*

I agree. Just because its a kids show, doesn't mean the writing should be lazy. 
I supposse so; I guess I just wasn't one who was influenced by his alleged "badassary". XD I accept and respect any opinions, so it doesn't bother me. (By the way, thanks for sharing yours! 
She does flirt a lot, as she did with Bartleby and that tiger lookin' guy, Stripes, was it? But I think it just bothers me a bit because they're not in the same cannon, therefore have never met. Elseworlds stories I guess are okay, in which they could meet, but good luck trying to figure out that gaping plothole... XD *And yeah, I have to agree - the Knuxonia thing isn't working at all for me. Flippin' SallyXKnuckles (in the comics) works better than that, and I don't even support that one either. Bartleby may be a jerk sometimes, but he's the only one that the writers actually kept as a consistent romantic interest for Sonia, so that would honestly make the most sense.*
But how old are these triplets supposed to be? Its implied that they're older, but everyone also still call 'em kids (even though I do know that older folks call young adults "kids" as a term of endearment, but still...). In one episode, Sonia said Bartleby was her old fiance, but she can't be older than her twin brothers, because twins are only separated for a short time! So if you could shed some light on the age factor, that'd be great. ^_^;

I believe that they are 15-16 due to the fact that they not only drive a 'tour bus' for their band, but Sonia also drives her motorbike. (You're welcome by the way on sharing opinions and thoughts here, and it's nice to see someone who agrees~ Oh the tiger guy was named Stripes)
Sonia paired with other canon males could work, but you'd have to figure out where they are in that universe if you wanted them to exist there. (Me and a friend of mine rp Rob O the Hedge and Sonia, and we have it that he has his kingdom in the SU universe, they just haven't ventured out that far, and since Archie has brought up many universes there's free range to do that as well as say that that Rob is single~)

actually,I hooked manic up with rouge,shade[from sonic chornicles] and alica[anti sally acorn] and I hooked sonia up with either shadow[for a short time] and espio also knuckles is ok with her too.

As for the whole pairing Sonia up with other official characters; in my opinion I just plain didn't like the idea of Sonia and Knuckles hooking up. So I decided to go and pair her with my other fave character; Shadow. Then I realised they've more in common then I originally thought; they both know how to ride a bike; use a gun; and lost some-one very dear to them.
As for manic having a fan-girl base... He was far better than Sonic in the series

I suppose, but I just find it strange because the two have never met in game cannon. (Obviously, Sonia was never in a game, let alone as a cameo, but that's besides the point.) I dunno, I think its just all a matter of perspective and which cannon one follows. ^_^
I guess, and I think both Sonia and he had far more developed backgrounds than Sonic (I mean, especially with that random interlude with Uncle Chuck in the beginning of the series - if you didn't watch the SatAm series, you had no idea who he was or what his importance was aside from being Sonic's uncle.). But I'm not a super fan either. I just like to analyze things for fun sometimes. XD

I think it was mentioned that Sonia was in a game as a cameo but it was a mistake because some-one at SEGA thought it was Amy Rose and that the artwork was official (even though it's origin was right here on dA)

I actually just looked that up, and yeah, it was Lightning Duchess' work that was put in Sega Superstars Racing. I think the person who put it in there either thought it was official work that they could use without permission, or just forgot to ask. XD Fail on their part. But at least its resolved now.
