But I will not support these acts, and if I need to fight you to prove this, then so be it." Her wings burst open and shot embers across the plaza, searing plots of grass. The temperature around them increased tenfold, waves of heat clashing against the sheer cold from Aram. "Well?"“That,” Aram started with a smirk, “Is NOT mercy, I’m afraid. You need more practice, Mel.” He summoned his wings himself, the force and cold of their sudden existence encouraging ice crystals of all sizes to rise from the ground and objects behind him. The stones of the pavement and nearby wall cracked from the sudden temperature change.

Ok, so I sketched this out during the Perfect Storm Event about... a year ago. /fails Lately I've been trying to figure out how to do lineless stuff, so I pulled this out to test on. I do like how it turned out.
This is a scene from one of the event RPs when Mel and Aram had a disagreement about Ross becoming the new Bishop-Prince in Castor's place. They were already at odds because of the events surrounding Castor's death, so when Mel angrily insisted that Ross should be executed - as he wasn't worthy to be Jirachi's host in her eyes - a fight broke out.

lol Sam, you exaggerate, but thanks! I wish I had finished it then, yeah. But if we're lucky, I'll possibly finish event-related pictures several months after the event! I'm still working on one for the Winter Solstice Ball... OTL
Aram was really angry, but mostly with himself, since he viewed it as his failure. (So emo. lol) But yeah, I enjoy the bit of irony that Aram/Articuno is head of the military, and yet the most pacifistic bird of the trio! For a kingdom called a Holy Empire, Perse is pretty laid-back militarily. If Aram wasn't High Constable, we'd have the Perse Inquisition all over the place!

Mmm, I wouldn't say passive aggressive, but since he grew up as a whipping boy the mentality he was raised with was that everything is his fault (or he deserves punishment for it), even if it technically isn't. I guess what happened to Castor was kinda his fault... in a way... by a stretch. >_>;

Ah I remember this. I sat back, let Abigail cry it out, and watched with rapt attention. It's absolutely wonderful. I'm fascinated by the effect of their powers on the area around them, the burning an frozen ground and debris in the wind. It's amazing attention to detail.

I noticed Mel's feet has less visible shadow though compared to Aram's, it makes her look less "grounded".
still overall it looks awesome! I especially love the little details in Aram's weapon! <3 and also how it reflects the yellow hues of Mel's flames~

WHY is Mel holding a lightsaber? XDDDD Sorry, the piece is LOVE but it is the FIRST thing I noticed. *hugs you so tight* I'm all rooting for Aram in here because you sorta unwittingly made him seem like the underdog. One, he's showing the more forceful - therefore straining - action, and two, Mel's part of the screen, the strength and scope of her arc, is larger than Aram's.
The lines are simple, not overpowering, but you were able to convey a sense of power. A little more brightness and light would have helped to convey the points where the ice and fire met (love the use of the G.R.R. Martin series name!) bringing about epically catastrophic results, and perhaps more shadows as a counterpoint to that, but those comments are minor. Overall, I love how you did the piece.

lol Her blade heats up red-hot - originally I drew fire around it, but it looked weird. XD I'm glad you noticed the more subtle compositional choices! As an ice type, Aram is most definitely the underdog here, even if he has more battlefield experience than Mel.
Very satisfying critique, thank you~ I'm still going to be editing this for a while probably, since I always do. lol I actually was about to add more shadows, since my sister had already told me I should and I totally agree. As for the brightness/light where the two elements meet, do you mean more of what's in the middle there where it becomes white?
Also, it's 20+ hours because I forgot to count... lol It's probably way more, but I know it was AT LEAST 20. >_>;;

I have a cold, so sorry I was a tick vague. *falls over* Hahahah... I DID mean the center - or, as it IS uneven - where the arcs of Ice and Fire do meet. Both are at their strongest at a white-ish color anyway (even fire, which burns hottest at that pretty bluish white) so you can make the energies blend better that way. I don't know the exact TIME of this battle, so it would also dictate how much shadowing you put at the edges of the screen. If it's day, it would be better to just add a faint white wash from the point of contact going outwards than to put shadows.

Hahaha.... I can imagine the feeling. I usually round mine off to about 6 or something hours a day but there ARE those damned pieces you don't release for MONTHS coz you keep working at them. xp Any case, kudos all the same~!!!

Hm, ok. I added more of the white then, since there already WAS white between the two forces. lol Made it more noticeable, I hope. And yeah, I darkened the edges of the image because although it is day, the storm clouds that were brought in for the event were very dark and made it pretty much evening lighting. It was kinda for a vignette effect too. I also didn't want to put a wash over the figures because it would desaturate the brighter colors. XD Thanks for your comments, MK!
