Long long overdue, but life gets in the way. This is Onwu, the general God of death of the Igbo people. The Igbo have other gods of death such as Ogbunabali (collects criminals). He is depicted as eyeless and earless because in the original mythology, when he was assigned to collect human souls, he could not bear to reap them because either their arguments were too sound, or the children looked too adorable. So in order to fix this, Chukwu removed his eyes and ears in order for him to do his job. That is why he is often described as the lonely or saddest of the Igbo Gods
