jii~actually, i have other ideas besides this. but, i couldnt draw it (7 times failed)
so, i gave up for a moment and drew unrelated one instead. but, ended up like this.
anyway, i added city background and else~~
this is for 2nd assignment. pls comment!
[update] add her name~~~ her name would be Sakura Yoki (last name)(first name) means Cherry Blossom for Sakura and Snow for Yoki.
[update02] cahnge her name to Sakura Yuki. seems sound better
ps, i was struggling drawing her hands... dont mind for the background
again, my new oc (but looks like one of the anime character but dont know the anime title).

Shading the hair can take me hours. Perhaps I may just have to submit an unfinished version.

to tell the truth, im bad at hair... so, most of my drawing is solid and looks like a helmet....
shading it... would be worse (unless lining~~ but, im bad at it)
try act your character like bright coloured hair (this is monochrome drawing a.k.a. black white. so no need to worry about colouring the hair, except darker colour ofcourse~~)

Nice job, some easter eggs: the guy is staring at her panties, there's a huge TV of Persona 4 in the back with Rise Kujikawa, I'm not too good with vocaloids so I don't recognize the ones in the poster/TV thing, but I can see Miku singing there, and a mom and her child surprised by viewing her >_<
There's actually another one totally black, singing there, it might be Len but I can't recognize it too

since i have no ideas (or dont know how to draw such amazing background), i just draw a city~~ plus, i just add something for a background (like Rise Fujikawa at back, Miku and other poster)

i just erase the shading with sharp-end eraser to make it looks natural. plus, i used 4b for darker shading.

use pressure (light pressure for lighter shading, heavy pressure for darker shading)
*do not use pencil harder/lighter than HB for heavy pressure cuz, u will ruin the drawing and damage it. instead, use softer/darker than 2B. beyond 6B is not recommended for heavy shading cuz it will not erasable)
2B is the most recommend cuz easier and better for common drawings~~

if you mean.. reflective light effect? if yes, i just shade all and erase acquire with edge-end eraser (sharp-end part of eraser)

sorry... i couldn't not understand...
ok... let me tell you~~
for mostly basic (also when only using one type of pencil lead), use pressure~~
-lighter pressure would make your shading light and heavier pressure would make your shading darker~~
-if you could imagine (thats the keypoint) where would be the lighting facing to, thats great. for example from up-left (common), you should make about 20*-45* clockwise from horizontal of the drawing. distance between object would be differ depending on your imagination~~
-if you are not sure where would u shading, try to make outline from the shading area (that area is for shading). thats is the very good tips
-if you are shading non-flat part (like legs, arms and... etto... breasts....), you should try for lighter to heavier pressure~~ (like, if the side is almost facing away of the light, you should make it darker and if the side is almost facing towards the light, you should make it lighter shading~ well, follow the gradient for the best 3D impact (but, most anime/manga drawing would not need)
-the easiest part is, try to shading the area lightly. until finished, repeat the same thing but with a bit heavier pressure (but NOT TOO MUCH!). like statement above, use heavier pressure for side facing away from light~~
-shade as fine as possible (or use bold type pencil). finer (or bolder) shaing would results a good one, instead of looking like lining~~ if you cant (or want to make it better), use Smudge technique (WARNING. Smudge only when necessary and do not smudge unshaded area cuz sometimes, it would not erasable)
-if you want to make reflection effect, (shade the whole shaded area first) erase it with fine-sharpend eraser. erase the failed shade for cleaner drawing~~
