Whoa, something new?!

Yeah, it's been a long time but as I very slowly try to get back to art, I had a character concept in mind after seeing this creature floating around the Internet, and from drawings of TheShootingStar98 . In the end, I decided to make a character based off the new species introduced in Super Mario 3D World, the Plessie. But please excuse me as I will not be addressing it as a species name. Plessie is a name for someone, not a full creature. Yoshis have been addressed as a species name and can be used as a name, but Plessie in my case, doesn't. So I call it Plesiosaur, as it's the closest name to its in-game name.

I introduce you to Jet.

SPECIES: Plesiosaur

COLORS: Completely red with reddish orange scales, deep blue eyes

LIFE STORY: Even as a child, Jet has always loved exploring and going on adventures, even if they weren't too far from home. He thrives off the idea that away from his home in the middle of nowhere, there is something else out there for him to find. Jet lives in an ocean village known as the Lapiz Depths, miles away from land, and lives there with his best friend, Dorrie. More than often, the two of them would scavenger around further and further from home to explore the vast spans of sea that lay undiscovered, usually bringing home treasure of some kind to add to their collections.

As the two grew older, Jet would spend more time trying to see how far he could go, and would spend time at the surface of the water to stare into the night sky, addressing it as twinkles, seeing as he has a pretty farfetched grasp of reality. Gossiping of what's out there, he would always remember a section of the sky where the stars are harder to see, what he wouldn't know as light pollution. Fascinated of what's out there, he promised to Dorrie that on his 18th birthday, he would leave to find what was out there. On the morning of his birthday, Jet says farewell to his home of Lapiz Depths and to his best friend in hopes of new adventures, and promised to return someday to share with her those stories of what he saw.

It was a rigorous journey, and as the sun began to set over the horizon, Jet had wore himself out too much once his vision got blurry and dizzy, just as something came into view...
When he woke up next, he was beside Kye, Wing, and SD, figuring out where he was. It turns out that Jet had made landfall and was unconscious on the beach and was found by Kye and Wing the next morning. Jet was glad to know he was OK, but beaming to know he made it to land after all that swimming. He found a new place!

Over time, Jet would live amongst his saviors and new friends, becoming apart of Kye and Wing's team, replacing Kye Jr. as the third member of the trio. Jet dons the same pieces of gear that Kye and Wing usually wear, including a crown, neckwear, and the familiar arm brace, although his doesn't yet have the magic properties in the jewels as the other two do. There are times where he wears a similar pair of shoes like Kye's and Wing's, but half the time he goes barefoot.

Jet doesn't have any noticeable powers as of now, but is capable of handling himself perfectly fine. On land, Jet is a tank: he moves around fairly slowly, but is able to take a lot of damage, as his defensive capabilities are made high thanks to his size and the thickness of his skin. Jet may attack a bit slow, but when he connects, he can deal a lot of damage. However, once he gets into the water, everything changes. Jet gets his name by how he's able to move around in the water, able to swim incredibly face and being an expert swimmer. He is very flexible and quick in the water, able to dodge anything that comes his way, while his ability to attack goes down a bit by how fast he can shift around.

As of now, this is just meant to serve as a placeholder until I can draw Jet myself. This was a lineart made by Yoshij1had , but I ended up asking for one of these awhile back, and never had the time to get to working on it. This is really put together in the matter of 10 minutes, I think, so I hope to keep working on my own style of Plesiosaur and add it when I can.
