I am equal parts terrified and excited. I have wanted this for years. At the same time, I am concerned that Square will fuck it up. I can handle a few minor changes like changing fire 2 to fira and fire 3 to firaga. Just don't fuck up the characters or the story Square.

I'm pretty sure they'll fix the translation errors, but I honestly just want to see Cloud in a dress, in HD.

They should keep a few things in the original translation as a joke or an easter egg. Aerith could say the line, Cloud points corrects her, she chuckles and says sorry, then we chuckle. In a more serious note, I prefer Marlene over Marin and Reno over Lino.
