- "Hey, whelp. What would you say if I told you I found a way to simulate moonlight with a ki blast?"
~ "I would say senility has finally caught up with you, old man."
- "Eh. Then it won't hurt you to assist me with some tests."
~ "Pfft. I suppose... being that there's no real work to be had at the moment. The minute the comisary has fresh food, I'm gone, though."
And so, as perfunctory experiments showed that simulated moonlight took several minutes to manifest at the right frequency, and Raditz had to show off that he was a quick draw - and anyone with any speed whatsoever could blast the artificial moon out of the sky (and he still considered the idea to be a bunch of crazy talk) - he didn't stick around long enough to see the technique fine tuned and brought to fruition, and thus never learned it. Too bad, as later on it could have been useful.

Yes, I'm still trying to wrap my brain around Bardock being a scientist of some sort.
Really never intended this to be anything finished, but it wanted to evolve into SirCrocodile's request for a drawing of these two. Because it was on creased up typing paper and the background was a big smudged up mess, I did some cleaning up and tweaking via photoshop, but mostly this is just HB pencil scribbles.

Holding hands with him might be a dangerous proposition. Might be worth it too though.
Thanks again for commenting.

Fantastic pic. I love the expressions you've captured on their faces; the way Bardock seems to be saying, "Hey, I'm doing something important here," while Raditz looks like he's wondering how he's going to keep from falling asleep... I also like the way you've done their hair. Hee - "done their hair". Now I've given myself an image of you sitting there with a comb and scissors, making sure you got everything right.

Thank you.
Now I have an image of myself chasing the two with a comb and scissors as they run in fear.

Great picture...i always thought Bardock wasn't really a scienctist after all. Anyways, Great job on making a great picture with my two favorite charecters of Dragonball Z.

I like Radditzβs right hand β it almost looks like heβs reaching out of the picture if you stare at it long enough. LOL! Sorry, I forgot to mention that I like the rest of Radditz too
Very dynamic-looking pic.

Thanks for taking a peek at this. I'm glad I got the hand to do that - funny thing is, Bardock took longer and gave me more headaches when I was drawing this, and it's a much simpler pose.

"Yes, I'm still trying to wrap my brain around Bardock being a scientist of some sort."
Bardock being a scientist is only in the dub. It's not true.
Or do you mean that you knew that, but you're trying to build on it..?
I like the picture itself.

I mean I knew that... but the fact that it sooooo does not match up with his behavior in the original, I'm still trying to figure out how anybody ever came up with that idea (besides trying to create yet another Goku/Superman parallel). I figure if there was a way to actually work it into the story, it would have to be something pretty silly, like Bardock fills out some enlistment forms when entering into service for Freiza's army and the space that says "occupation" he meant to put "indiscriminate killer", but he can't write so well so it looks like he wrote scientist... or something.
thanks for props on my doodle though.

Oh, OK.
Haha, I like your theory.
It's like lying on a resume.
"OK skills...let's see...I'll put Scientist down!"
*A few weeks later*
"We need a scientist. Bardock, get over here!"
"WHA-??!"
No problem.

I figure he was a military scientist... as in figuring out better weaponry... an applied science kinda guy... LOL.
