Captained by the famed pirate The Duchess and the de facto flagship of the League of Silence underworld criminal organization, the 8th Deadly Sin is considered the most powerful starship ever known to have sailed under a pirate flag. It appears to be the front end of one of the Terran Protectorate's powerful Armstrong-class heavy cruisers and the rear section of a Pulsar commercial cruiser, giving it heavy firepower, ample speed and the fighter-carrying capacity of an escort carrier. Its dilapidated appearance is a bit of a mystery for a couple of reasons. First, The Duchess is known to be an absolute diva who loathes to wear the same outfit twice, so why would she fawn over a ship that looks like it came off the scrapyard? Second, where in the hell did she get something as powerful as an Armstrong heavy cruiser, and why hasn't the Terran Protectorate sent a fleet after her just on general principle alone?
The Duchess has only commented that the 8th Deadly Sin was salvage from where the Stellar Navy shouldn't have been, hinting that any attempt by the military to come after her will lead to her dropping some damaging secrets. Still, she restricts her pirating to the Free Colonies, the Xintrin Merchant Guild, and the Empire of Many Suns, where the Stellar Navy has no jurisdiction.
