I actually did this image because I've got some commissions queued up for art of some beautiful sci-fi ladies, and I haven't done many of them recently, so I created this image as practice to get back into the groove.I think there were six or seven layers on this one, including a light bokeh effect layer and a hazy z-depth layer. I also did some skin work on her to get her skin more realistic, since one of my upcoming projects is going to require me to make an inhuman skin look real, I figured it was good practice to work on making human skin as real as possible.
No story behind this one, just art. Enjoy, and let me know what you think.
I didn't realize until I was done that there was actually no nudity in this at all, despite her state of undress, just goes to show how less can be more.

Love the pose, and I think you did a good job giving the skin a healthy sheen. Is it just me, or does her sword scabbard snap directly to her shoulders?

I was actually going to have blood dribbling down from the screws, but I thought it would break the atmosphere of the piece.

About four hours prep, four hours total rendering (two of those hours solely due to her hair...) and another hour of postwork.

Nah, if I hadn't been fighting a cold and could have concentrated more, I wouldn't have taken so long. Once you get down how to do certain things, like lighting and setting textures right and posing, then you do those things really quickly, relatively. For example, the girl herself went pretty quick, getting the city props set right so I had the right perspective that I wanted, and lighting the background setting, took longest I think.

She doesn't mind being conspicuous in that outfit. Her skin is fine and a nice job on the tattooing. As she is carrying what looks like a .38 revolver with a 3 inch barrel, I assume the kill will be made close up. I hope she intends to get the target from behind, because if he sees her, he will be going for any weapon, if he has one or will begin running for his life. Of course this may be a science fiction or alternate world in which this sort of thing is handled differently. From the back, I find her sexy and lethal. As to believable..... ?
