Looks like Finn has alot of growing up to do then. I don't know if it's me, but Finn seemed more knightly and, well, "honorable" during the first 2 seasons, like a mini Billy. But he's been non-knightly ever since then. Idk, maybe it's the writers.

Billy is an awesome character. Not only he saved the world from the greatest evil like the Lich, he passed his legacy to Finn and Jake, who would soon be the greatest heroes of Ooo.

Dude, that is some powerful stuff. (And hey, you were totally right about the Lich making a Billy-suit! Glad Prismo was as disgusted by that idea as I was. 
Are more of those voice overs quotes from Carl Sagan too, or just that last part and you wrote the rest yourself? Either way, very fitting and moving concepts (and a perfect bookend to what you started in the Lich episode prologue). I love the idea with Ice King that maybe Simon is managing to keep the crown from being destructive by distracting himself with princesses. It'd be amazing if his silly behavior is ultimately a heroic act.
Thanks for sharing another amazing coda to these episodes! Hopefully soon you'll get to draw some lighter scenes for the characters! (Though if you're like me, the drama sometimes is easier to write for.)

Only the 10th and 11th panels come from Carl Sagan. The work should be able to stand by itself even without the quotes so I don't overdo it
I wrote the rest of the text for Billy. Just like the Lich's monologue, the text also refers to specific AT characters.

And you're right about the drama. We as human beings love focusing on the sad things in life so comedy writers are a special bunch. I never keep it too sad or serious for the characters.
There's way too many melodramatic AT comics out there. No need to add more

Brilliant mate! After seeing that episode I think you really captured some great moments. I think it was an incredible episode to kick off season 5. Once again I like the way you used LSP with Jake in tandum to provide some comic relief. They are hilarious. Good stuff

A wonderful follow-up to the bleakness of The Lich prologue! It's very beautiful and true to the show, totally refuting everything the Lich said. At first I was a touch saddened by is that there's nothing to relate to Finn and PB making up after she accidentally cut him and he attacked her, and suspected that's an element in the on-going narrative you're building between them in these comics... but then I realized, the bandages over his scar are PINK. Bubblegum-bright pink! 
Using Billy accepting his death and sending a last bit of friendly advice to his friends was a great narrative touch.
It's a very nice moment there, Finn and Jake doing that 'sharing a drink with fallen friends' thing. And honestly, the roleplaying game reference made me giggle. I honestly think that a lot of really good Adventure Time-ish ideas can be had drawing from Dungeons And Dragons!
My heart warmed a little with Ice King's bit, and the accompanying narration. Him going down the crazy bit Farmworld-Finn did, and then IMMEDIATELY going back to crushing and being silly.
PFFFT, what in the world DID Lady think it was? (And what's up with the star jewel thing??)

That's an absolutely spectacular bit at the end...with a quote by one of my real life heroes and idols! (Carl Sagen is an INSPIRATION. He's right up there with luminaries such as Nikola Tesla, Sir Terry Pratchett, and Emperor Joshua Norton XD)

Can't let it get too dark now right? Adventure Time shows how dark the world can be but how very much liveable it still is even with sadness and tragedy.
