Thanks! I think I was bored when I drew her - its been a few years. You know that floating feeling you get when you are trying to stay awake but you're drifting off anyway...? I often come up with mermaids and fish in that state.

Oh I do that too...but mostly come up with chapters when I am pissed off.... I thought I wanted to be a vet when I was a kid....then I saw how people treat their animals so I decided teaching was more like it for me. Why I thought parents do better by their kids I'll never know. Too late though...can't go back to school at this stage of my life. I am the art teacher...we have almost 900 students now. Any one of them that is abused or whatever - that's MY student. Mine for 6 years. If I don't write I will go completely berserk someday. I can see the headlines... "Art teacher goes mad...kidnaps abused child...strings evil parent up by their toenails with tape and Elmer's glue...."
Yeah... Hmmm....better to send characters after imaginary slave runners and send child protective services after the real bad guys.

Totally understand the issue with abusive parents. I used to be a juvy correctional officer. Loved the kids. the squirrlyer the better. One of my favorites caused riots every time he came into the center. It was the parents, and the system I got disgusted with. No one really wanted to help the kids. They were just statistics. Bring them in - run them throught the system - put them right back where they came from with out anywayto cope with the crap in their lives. I learned to drink a lot with that job. The wost was the night I had to expain to a 17 year old girl how she got pregnant. She had no clue how any of that worked. Informed her dad and he wanted to yell at her over the phone. He got me instead. We "discussed" what a parent should be teaching their children. I proudly got wrote up for that incident.
So, your an art teacher? Neat. I want to be a Sex ed teacher, but no one will let me. Coed, start in elem school, ALL topics covered.
So why is writing Fanfic so damn addictive? I never sat out to write this stuff. I just did it to save my sanity over a crappy winter, and now I can't stop. The ideas keep comming FYI hubby is who I think about when I write Sideswipe.

Ahh...now there's a job I wouldn't have lasted long at. At least I mostly get to hang around happy kids. If they are in JV it is almost always cause they have had help getting there. >-( I don't drink. I am a sad drunk. Yes...I agree about the sex ed thing too...lots of stupid people think ingorance and abstinence somehow go together. You can show them cold hard facts that say otherwise but.... The worst part is the kids are developing earlier. My fourth grade girls are getting curvy - the guys are dropping their voices. Its all the hormones in the milk etc...IMHO. They are getting that middle school attitude problem too.
I had one mom threaten to kill me for calling her to tell her her daughter had been in a fight. I was not involved in any way except for making the phone call - I wasn't even there for the fight. The principal needed help (Only 2 hands...ya know) and asked me to call. For this I am a lying cu** and a **cking bitch and other fun things and I deserve to die. So she offered to help me with that.
Yeah...needed to vent that day. In my opinion that is why art and writing are so therapeutic. Or it could be I'm just flipping nuts.

I haven't gone to church in a while because they are pushing the ignorance and abstinance thing. At least they didn't ask me to pickit the porn shop. I refuse to be a hypocrite, and the porn shop gets some of my money.
Couldn't you do something about having a parent threatening bodily harm? At least you know where the child gets it from. (said with resigned disgust).
Oh, I've decided that people that write what we do ARE flipping nuts, but in a good way (nods head vigerously). I have to ask what does Magnus-hubby think about his wife writing fanfiction?

Sigh. that stuff just tweaks my nose. We had a teacher fired around here lately for doing a disappearing tooth pick trick in class to demonstrate optical illusions. He was fired for doing "wizardry" in class. Now...not to sound bigoted 'cause I will, but the parents who cost this man his livelihood enrolled their kids in public school and then forced their religion down the teacher's throat. They were conservative Christians. Now...I am Jewish and I do not run my classroom by Christian standards 'cause...um...how could I do that? We talk about art from ancient Egypt and Native American stuff...and every time I mention something non-Christian I wonder when things get ugly. This guys was discussing ILLUSIONS. Nothing wizardly involved.
As for the parent who threatened me, no I didn't press charges. She showed up at school with a gun and got herself arrested a short time later. Aww.... Dear me I HOPE I am a good kind of nuts, but it hardly matters. This stuff comes out one way or another way so I'm going for the one I find the most fun!
As for the man, we met at Botcon because he was a fan of my comics. And then we started hanging out....and then we started brainstorming....and then the lond distance calls started. We were just friends...sure we were. The day my phone bill hit 900$ we decided it would be cheaper to quit playing stupid and just admit we we stuck with each other. Getting married just made it formal.

(grumble grumble) I hate closed minded bigots. I claim Christian, and some days I actually make it there. All of the grass roots, lets act like it's the 1700's all over again bothers me. I have friends of every make and model. Most are pagen. Feel sorry for the teacher that was fired. The school board needs more back bone. The last time I checked the ACLU loves to go after conservitive types.

Hehe, love the how we meet story. Mine just followed me home and never left. Literally. we had 3 date before he talked to me, and 2 more dates before he tried to kiss me. Two months after we meet we were living together, and he had a ring bought. I didn't find out for a couple of more months. Been together almost 10 years. He likes having a geek wife, we never see chick flicks. I can't stand them. He let me drag him to Botcon, but he said I couldn't wear my "I love nerds" shirt there.

As for chick flicks...GAG! Our guys are lucky and they'd better appreciate it. My favorite shirt says "What part of MWHAHAHAHAH don't you understand?" I also like "I'm a ninja...you can't see me."
