Description
Okay, so I had the best, most epic, incredible dream of all timesLast wednesday I had the amazing dream, and woke up, spent two hours writing it all down in as much detail as I could remember. I can't tell you all the dream or you'll just think I'm crazy, but I want to turn it into a book/story. (with loads of art to go along)
-it seems I am only creative when I am sleeping lol-
So this is the main character (the fish is not important, just a random fish lol) I don't know her name, but this is just a character sketch until I get her right, so there will be loads more, I know this is missing some important items/aspects the character had. so I'll have to draw more angles and poses.
So I know red hair, re tail, loads of red, but that's what she had in the dream so I'm sticking with it. She was the only mermaid with a red tail, it was like a fluke
And I hope this doesn't look to "The Little Mermaid" because it really isn't at all like Disney's little mermaid, there are two main characters, the other is a male that I haven't drawn yet. And they don't really 'live' underwater, they live on rocky cliffs and rocky edges of abandoned islands. (so in rocky areas nowhere near humans)
This drawing was done today at the pool (LOVE sketching there!) and I didn't have a pencil on me, so the whole thing was done with a blue pen and took about 20 minutes. I gotta say, I was really shocked when I was done, I mean I honestly didn't mess up once with A PEN!!! I screw up left right and center with a pencil, maybe I try to hard and therefore mess it up with a pencil. With the pen I just drew and didn't really care either way
ANYWAYS
so quick color job just to see her amazing red fin that's been stuck in my head all week

i like it >^_^<...dreams sometimes spawn really great stories...you should add what you say is crazy...the world loves the crazy unique stories...they gain popularity for just being different...think alice in wonderland or wizard of oz...& your drawing came out great...some of my better drawings are from when i wasn't even trying...& for some reason blue pens just have a great drawing feel...i've been drawing half zoned out w/ pen & not trying & i get shocked too...of course most of those drawings were from me not paying attention in class bored out of my mind >^_^<...let's just say i never really had all A's cuz of it

lol I think alot of artists do that...
My mind will sometimes wonder so badly after a while I'll snap back into and spend the next couple of minutes trying to figure out where we are now and what I missed (happens at least three times per class lol)
yeah, no straight A's here for me either.
Do you use dreams for your art sometimes? I think it's a great way to make art, I think it's the only time my lame brain is actually creative
Well thank you so much for the awesome comment!

beautifully done. ^_^ The composition is perfect, I love all of the little details, from the scales mermaid herself to the light streaming in from above. (which, btw, makes it look like a watery wonderland. ) I love it!

seriously, you don't know how much your comment means to me, that really REALLY made my day. I feel my weakest form of art-making is this style as well as my coloring (especially digital coloring) and I think your comment was the biggest apt on the back I have ever received for these styles.
Thank you sO much!
