After the end credits Lucia is flipping Dante's coin and remembers that Sparda escaped from Hell after being trapped and then you hear a motorcycle pull up as she goes to the front of the store.

yea that scene! i guess i was reallly hoping to see dante more than just a hint, but that's where i thought it could also connect to a new story, a what if scenario to bring forth the other characters together. also during dmc4, i remember thinking maybe lady and trish would be playable characters in a special edition version like dmc3 - but that never happened

Sounds like it could make for a good story! That was one of my biggest problems with Devil May Cry 3! It was a PREQUEL! And while it was nice to learn more about Dante's past, I still wanted to find out how Dante was supposed to deal with being trapped in HELL!

same here. i thought the first four dmc's only had to fix one thing - the story, it had to connect properly and be written with care. sure the game is mostly ridiculous, but its characters and lore had interesting depth that could've been brought forward with decent dialogue and plot. but iam seeing the new one (DmC) as an improvement storywise, i do hope it sells and plays as the best version of dmc. i will still miss the original vision though.
