After finishing all books I can’t emphasize enough how I dislike what did they do to Fishlegs in the movie, because… because… well, read it yourself if you haven’t yet.
I don’t want to write spoilery for the case someone was only about to read the books and didn’t want to be spoiled, so I won’t explain and won’t even write a name of the dragon. Though… it’s probably a spoiler already even just like that… hm. Whatever.

I saw the movies first - but it took me three years to get around to seeing the first one. The trailer and the TV commercials for the first movie did not excite me. I loved the first movie when I finally saw it and I liked the second one. In mid-December of last year I decided to try reading the first book. By the first week of February i had ripped through all twelve books. While the first two movies are number 1 and 3 on my favorite movie list (Coco is #2), I rank the book series as far superior to the movies. Book Fishlegs and Horrorcow (not the dragon in this drawing - since ilwin does not want to name this dragon) are far more entertaining characters than movie Fishlegs and Meatlug.
I like the way you designed the curve of the necks and the placement of the heads in this drawing. It helps to capture the emotion of that scene in the book.

I went to saw the first movie because I knew the book (only first or first few at the time) and was dissappointed by several things in the movie, but liked it anyway and thought well it's the movie so it's different that's what it is usually (though movie Fishlegs was one of the biggest disappointment right from the first watching), but when I was finally finishing reading of the books series this august and read the last few - much more serious books - I just can't think of the movies as the same story, it's so different. And movie Fishlegs annoys me now even more. I don't even know if I want to see the third movie now.
All characters are definitely much better in the books. All except of Hiccup in the movies are just so flat and somewhat dull.
