"Sirius, wait!"

There was a pleading that was so foreign to Moony's tongue that forced Sirius to turn around just in time to be grasped around his neck and pulled down to Remus' height. Sirius couldn't help but chuckle in-spite of the unfolding events as his lips molded with Remus. The brunette's cheeks were damp but with warm droplets—much different from the cold, hard rain that fell from the sky. Moony was crying. His little Moony was sobbing his heart out. When the two broke away, Sirius got a good look at the other’s face to see that it had gone pink from crying. Sirius pulled some of Remus’ hair out of his face and behind his ear in a reassuring manner that he knew Remus wouldn’t truly believe.

They two stood there with bated breath as Sirius felt his own resolve melting at the look on Remus’ face. Deciding he needed to be strong for the light of his life, Sirius smiled at the brunette. “Look, everything is going to be okay. I promise,” he tried to say with certainty, but Remus just shook his head.

“No. I know everything is falling apart. He knows us and will hunt us, but I just—” Remus appeared to choke on a word as a few more tears fell from his eyes. Sirius could feel his heart shattering as he pulled Remus into his grasp; giving the top of his head a kiss before resting his chin on it. “I just can’t let you die,” Remus finally finished.

“Moony, I promise,” Sirius said, as he readjusted his hold on Remus so they could look at one another again. “I’ll be back. I promise.”

“You’d better be, you prat,” Remus smiled in a heart-broken sort of way before playfully shooing Sirius. “Now go! Go make sure they’re alright!”

Sirius smiled as a few tears escaped his eyes as well but he turned for his motorcycle nonetheless. “I love you,” he called back to Remus as he threw on his helmet and speeding off toward whatever fate awaited him in Godric’s Hollow.

“I love you more,” Remus muttered weakly as a fresh batch of tears swelled in his eyes. For some reason, he knew that was the last he would see of Sirius Black.

Why so emo?! I don’t know. @____@
Why a fanfic opening?! I still don't know. o__0

So, this idea just came into my head last night and for some reason it never left. The idea of how Sirius left Remus right before heading to find James and Lily murdered by Voldemort--in my fan world where they're together, that is. Just imagine leaving someone you love knowing you might die or vice versa. I can imagine Lupin being crushed and showing it more than Sirius. Not that Sirius is playing the "macho-man" card; but, more so, he wants to help Lupin understand that all hope isn't lost.

As for the picture itself, it's so-so. I did all the base colors and shading first before relocating it to another file where I made the rain and darkness effects. Yay for photoshop and all the the cheats it gives me. XD
The lightning is there just because it can be. Obviously it isn't actually lightning, it's the Killing Curse. It isn't meant to be aimed at Sirius, just kind of off to the side.

All in all, here is a depressing picture done late at night.
