Description
A little box I made for thread spools. I used a laser cutter to cut and engrave 4mm plywood.I made the box outlines using a nice little program named BoxMaker

Too much work and the result is not worth the time. If I wanted to improve it I'd rather just paint it. Besides, I like the burned look

Wow this looks good! Is everything in this image a vector score? You've got incredibly fine lines in the spool, but I can't tell with the big Rarity. How ever you did it, it's really cool.
On the "sandpaper" note, if you're dealing exclusively in vector then you can always cover your wood with transfer paper at no added hassle. (You can do it with raster engraving too, but will have to remove all of the tiny pieces left behind in the unburned areas.) That prevents the smoke from discoloring the wood around the cut areas.
Only downside to this is the vaporized adhesive needs to be cleaned off of the cutting bed, but that's not too difficult.
Anyways, enough of the unsolicited advice. This is such a clever piece, thanks for sharing!

I took better fotos of the lid and the bottom, you can see all the lines better there:

Thank you Yes, everything is a vector, I didn't use raster engrave. Using vector mode is much faster and it looks much better. What kind of transfer paper do you mean exactly? I don't mind cleaning the cutting bed, I have to do it all the time anyways because the wood is layered and contains glue so after cutting it's always yellow.
Please don't hold back unsolicited advice, I'm always eager to try something new or do something ina better way

Okay haha ^_^ I never want to sound like a know-it-all running around the internet blessing people with my comments lol XD I am farrrrr from competent when it comes to our dastardly little craft, but it's fun nonetheless XD
As far as transfer paper goes, I just use the stuff intended for placing vinyls. It's called application paper/tape or vinyl transfer paper (the material is paper, and it is used on vinyl. The paper itself isn't vinyl, that'd be messy and dangerous XD ) It's pretty easy to identify: usually a slightly off-white color, opaque in material but slightly transparent due to its thinness, and it's sticky one one side only.
Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if painter's tape (or other easily removed adhesives) did the same thing. I just use the transfer paper because it's large and I don't run the risk of variable thickness in my mask layer. Maybe this helps a little? I don't know, hopefully! ^_^
I'm looking forward to what you do next!

I actually have that kind of transfer paper but now the laser is broken so I need to fix it first before I can try

I made a table which is moved up and down by three stepper motors. Somehow all three motor drivers broke down at the same time when I tried to figure out why one of the motors wouldn move anymore.
Now I need to order three new motor drivers.
I also need to make a proper pcb to replace the stripboard and I want to replace all the motors by stronger ones so I can move the table faster.
