Description Just an idea I had. It didn't turn out exactly how I wanted because it was really hard to time everything right. I'll try it again later and I'll probably try to make a more interesting design with it. I just have to go find some more patience before I do try

I like the idea, I like the technique, I like the colors, well, actually I'm impressed. This is a really good picture, maybe capturing more than you meant when taking it.

Anyway it's a fave for me, and an excellent piece of work. Kudos.

I can see how it didn't turn out like you expected, but I like the way it did! It's cool and unexpected. I get a sort of doomed feeling from this photo. You see the the dominoes up in front the clearest, they're your focus in a way. While in the back you can see the fate of the frontward dominoes. And they're so brave, standing tall like that. It's like watching a WWII movie and seeing the bad guy going down the line of people shooting them one by one.

..yeah I got all that from this. Lol, it's great!

Great concept!
Btw how have you achieved the effect of those staying/fallen bricks?

ImaginationsTheLimit In reply to Jack070 [2008-11-04 22:56:27 +0000 UTC]

Thank you!

You use a long shutter speed to get that effect....and a lot of patients You have to time the right moment to push them down (so that you capture them upright and falling)and the right amount of time for the shutter speed.

So you have to keep it staying for some time to get 'staying' one, then make them fall (what is quite fast) and then let them lie down some time to make the 'lying' position more visible...
Maybe I'll try it out

You've got it And your right they fall really fast...thats the hard part because I didn't want to capture the front one falling. So it can be frustrating but also fun You should definitely try it. But a tip...after taking an hour to set up a really cool complex design, make sure you don't bump the camera and ruin the shot... and yes, I learned that from experience lol So make sure you have you camera on something sturdy.

You don't need to have a tripod...setting it on a table will do

Awesome, especially how you can see the whole line of dominoes standing, and a ghosty version of most of them being tipped over, keep up the good work bro
