i can't believe how strong people's convictions are that women must be hairless -all over. it's disgusting, actually. women were all born with hair, but society tells us that it's gross for us to keep it on our bodies. amazing.

I think that was the whole point, to challenge our ideas of beauty. As a women I have to say it's pretty dissapointing that you don't get it. It's not wrong for a man to have hairy arm pits but on a woman it's distgusting?

People don't do these things because it is societies standard. Peacocking is part of human instinct and most other species of life on this planet.
Instinctually we all look for the best mate, and physicall appearances account for a lot. From warthogs to humans, every species has a certain set of characterstics they look for in a healthy mate, be it good skin, good hygene, well groomed, physically fit, or bright and colorfull, they are all things that subconciously indicate a healthy mating partner with good genes. Essentially in this case, pubic hair tends to sweat and smell bad, the armpits are a major site for perspiration, that means the body flushing out waste and toxins. Think about that the next time you peer into a smelly patch of armpit hair and consider it naturally beautiful.
I mean really, no one ever calls a peackcock cliche and shallow for flonting his feathers, or accuses a deer of being a vein conformist for rubbing his coat in the grass to make it shine.
It's the same thing with people. It's a way of conveying a message through physical appearance. You're saying "Hey, I'm young and healthy"
But as the saying goes beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I wouldn't do it myself... but I can understand why some women would choose not to shave.
My point is, you wouldn't look at a man with a hairy armpit and say "oh that's distgusting"... but if you saw a women with one then you would...

i shaved at first. but that really sucked, long term pain, itchin bleeding
waxing hurts for like 5 minutes and then im good for a month and it gets easier everytime
