A bit late, but this is for . Started on this last year. Thought I would be able to finish this before the year ends. Didn't expect to get busy that time. Especially these last couple of days. I was like, drawing 5 - 10 lines per day on this. XDThis is Glacier Woman ! She is Lilac-Vrt-Olligoci 's Original Robot Master. She's a tomboyish arctic geographer/rescuer, who is built for climbing up mountains and diving underwater in frigid areas.
Anyway, mentioned this before, but I really love her goggles. I'm in the glasses-girl camp, and giant goggles/visors are close enough for me.

Hey, that makes two of us actually. I was wondering how I would go about drawing Glacier's shoulders. Probably would have looked better with some sort pattern on the segments, but that's not really my thing. So I just drew whatever.

Thank you! The blur was a last minute thing. It wasn't even supposed to be a blur. Just some of my usual low saturation depth effect thingies. Thought it looked cool blurred when I experimented. Glad I stuck to it. ^^

Like the angles on this one and your use of foreshortening. I Imagine that she climbs for fun and only uses her jet pack when necessary. I assume it is because flying robots ought to be more practical for that sorta task

Yeah, the pack she has on her back is a water propulsion system for when she dives to collect samples. I really outta do a sample set of her abilities and how the pack works. Maybe I'll whip one up in a jiffy.
Well, I could give a pretty scientific explanation as to why Glacier Woman would be good for climbing in areas instead of fliers is cause she can climbs a lot faster in dangerous wintry conditions compared to, say, Gyro Man or Jupiter trying to dodge downdrafts or wind gusts that could crash them into the side of a mountain. Or freeze their systems.
*wink* Weather is one of the reasons why we don't see a lot of planes and helicopters land in places like the Himalayas or Antarctica in the wintertime.

Thanks! Yeah, I try my best to put interesting angles in my pics. Going as far as placing inexplicable lights and shadows on the background and foreground. XD
Anyway, I don't think that's a jet pack. I think it's propulsion for when she's swimming underwater. And yeah, I guess fliers would be better for going up mountains too. Though maybe they just couldn't fit a jet pack in her.

The design and pose you gave her are awesome. The visor does look cool as well as the ice shoulders! You do foreshortening well. Hmm... if I have any critique, for a mountain climbing pose, would her butt be sticking out that much?

Oh, she's not my design. Heck, I even removed some cool doodads (like harnesses and hooks) from the original. Didn't want to be forced to draw them being used in climbing.
Haha yeah, the butt bothered me for a while. It stuck out more in the draft. Thing is, I wanted to draw her rappelling, with her legs somewhat straight against the cliff. Always loved how agile that form looks. I changed my mind though, because her ice pick would then go unused. I guess in hindsight, it's not such a proper free climbing form to push yourself away from the cliff wall too much.

Haha you are right. You actually use your knees and legs most when climbing up rocks. You could always say she's just adjusting her position or something.
