Description
The poster stands for itself. Still, here are some good reasons why you should all just let it go:-The other Avengers did forgive him. A long time ago. The writers just won't. Every time they resolve the issue, SOMEONE brings it up again. Every. Fucking. Time.
-Fun fact: Jan had been deliberately manipulating and abusing his unstable mental state to force him into marriage with her and continued to do so to maintain their lifestyle. It's not domestic abuse, it's karma.
-It was ONE loss of control.
-If I had a nickel for every time Pym redeemed himself, I could call the lottery "spare change"
-According to Jim Shooter, it was originally supposed to be that Hank accidentally backhand her while making a "I give the hell up, this is getting ridiculous" gesture, but that the artist, who was taught to portray the most dramatic interpretation, took that to mean hauling off and hitting her.
-This all happened because Captain America kicked him off the Avengers for "recklessness". First, he thought Cap was in danger and tried to save him. Second, if that were fair, Iron Man would've been an Avenger for an even shorter time than the Hulk. (Who quit in the second freaking issue!)
-If anyone tries to use Ultimate to counter, remember that even Captain America is a complete asshole in Ultimate

Hank hit Jan the same amount of times that Peter Parker hit Mary Jane.

Nah, Peter straight-up close-fist backhanded a pregnant MJ during the Clone Saga.
He wasn't in his right mind and he was horrified when he snapped out of it, but it certainly was a more violent hit than Hank's slap on Jan there.

Well, with all the shit Peter's been through, I'm surprised he's still sane.
But then, trading a supermodel wife for an elderly aunt isn't all that rational.

I actually LIKE that the writers DON'T forget it, in terms of having it be part of his character as a source for self-doubt and inner turmoil. They've done some really good stuff with it. But the fan hating is pretty weak, especially since I'm willing to bet most of 'em haven't even read the story in question OR most of his story after it happened. And yeah, they fuck up SO MUCH with the Ultimate Universe... -_-

It's not bad that they won't forget it, it's bad that they won't forgive him for it.
Tell me about it. An asshole Captain America, a cannibalistic Hulk, Black Widow stereotyped as a double-agent, and I'm pretty sure needing a support team to keep his armor functioning means Tony isn't as smart. In fact, Thor was really the only character I thought they portrayed well. And I was thinking of adding the idea of Wasp as a mutant to my fan-script of Ant-Man.

They did get the odd good idea, the way Hank developed his tech offa Wasp's mutation being one of the better ones IMO, but overall, yeah, just REALLY had trouble even giving the line a second chance after the couple first TPBs of the Ultimates. Ultimate Spidey was pretty good though, from what I've read so far.

I first seriously considered the idea after seeing the WMG page for the Avengers cartoon on TV Tropes. [link]
Yeah, somehow they didn't realize that a lot of those things weren't their greatest ideas. But I did like the Captain America/G.I. Joe comparison (especially seeing him drive a tank).
I'm up to past the Venom arc. Pretty good. Also, Ultimate Fantastic Four isn't half bad, and the Ultimate X-Men have their moments (even if Logan's a dick).

Oh yeah, totally agree there. The problem with comic book characters. You suffer one mental breakdown, your marriage breaks down once, or you get manipulated by Mastermind so you turn evil then eat a sun then die, or sell your marriage to the devil, and then for the rest of your existence its all people talk about.

Well, the Dark Phoenix saga was a good story. The problem is people always forget about how Phoenix isn't always psycho-evil. And Spidey selling his marriage to the devil was pretty stupid. But yeah, people do tend to get too hung up on it.

Still, Hank as Yellowjacket is an asshole. Hank as Antman/Giantman/Wasp/whateverhecallshimselfnow is a little less of a jerk. Still Jan has feelings for Hank (not Yellowjacket but Hank Pym), Thor, Cap, and Tony. Who knows how it'll end?
-Funfact: There is a wrose example: Zombie Giantman bit off Zombie Wasp's head, after she cought him eating a secert stash of flesh! However, being both zombies this may just be a "lovetap".

I blame his mental instability. I mean, he built freakin' Ultron! Besides, the life of a comic book character is never an easy one.
:shudder:
