    Despite popular belief, Quix didn’t enjoy doing this. Violently pinning the small fox to the ground and growling down at him with bared fangs was not on him top 10 list of favorite past times. Unfortunately for the dark fox the second the cat saw him instinct backed by suspicion had him charging for the other in an instant and pinned in another.
    “You have a lot of explaining to do, street rat.”
    The fox snarled and snapped at the other but Quix was to far out of reach for him to do any real damage. The fox glanced in the direction it looked like he’s been heading when the cat has spotted him. He made a sound somewhere between a growl and a whine before falling limp under Quix with a huff.
    Quix raised and eyebrow loosening his grip slightly now that the fox didn't seem to be resisting it. He certainly haven't expected the normally stubborn fox to give in so easily and the lingering suspicion and distrust prevented him from letting go completely just yet.
    “You always have the worst timing, I should just expect it by now.” the fox’s voice was little more than a whisper as he growled out the words and though the cat wasn't 100% sure what they were in reference to he found himself smirking at them anyway.
    “I do try, now do you want to explain what you were doing out here or should I just assume it's nothing good like per the norm?” The cat leaned forward as he said this but made sure his claws didn't dig into the fox's back to badly. The thief was behaving after all.
    “My job. Well at least what's supposed to be my job but I’m not sure how I'm supposed to do it with everyone at my throat! You have people blowing up buildings but you all still act like I'm your biggest problem!” Quix was briefly surprised by the outburst never having seen the fox show simple frustration before.
    As enemies the two did their best to hide anything that may have been considered a weakness from the other and that included most emotions. Now that they were on the same side, he had seen many emotions he had begun to believe the fox simply didn't have. It was starting to unnerve the cat, just how normal the fox could be when he had seemed so untouchable before.
    Quix shook his head to clear his thoughts before stepping off the small fox, having decided that he wasn't liable to run. Even if he did, with Quix so close he wouldn't get far.
    Recon got up quickly leveling Quix with a glare but made no attempt to run. The work has fallen from the cat’s face, the confusion and curiosity having dispelled any amusement the soldier may have felt.
    What had the fox been doing out here? Trying to escape seeing the donation seemed unlikely with the apprentice, Ruse was her name if his memory served him, still at the palace. Unless the fox didn't care about the black cat? That seemed even more unlikely considering what he had seen earlier.
    “Your job? This is hardly the time for that! In case you haven't noticed the city is in ruins because of that lunatic! We need to focus on helping rebuild after Tarnish’s attack.” The fox looked away and mumbled something Quix just missed. Quix immediately jumped to the assumption that it wasn't anything nice and growled out a warning.
    “You wanna repeat that?” It wasn't a request but the fox gave him an annoyed considering glance as though it was. He gave a small huff before turning to face the cat fully, his face now back. The mild surprise Quix felt at the fox giving him his full attention was amplified tenfold the second the fox spoke.
    “It wasn't Tarnish.”
