Description Picture shows a paper clip viewed from the back side.. I spent about seven to eight hours on this. I skipped many meals and got plenty of blisters on my hand.. just so that I can finish this assignment for my art class on time.. Now I'm having gastric flu and exhaustion..

Anyway, I always wanted to do something close to photorealism. Although I can't say that this picture is even close yet, I managed to break through from my original drawing skills.

For this drawing I used a variety of pencils ranging from 3H to 6B.. Light shade pencils are especially good because they can help me blend very well. I noticed during this exercise that pencils are like brushes. The pencil lead, that is being shaded onto the paper, pick up lead from the paper. So when you use a lighter shade pencil on top of a darker shade, the pencil you are using to draw with will actually increase its darkness when you go onto a blank area. By exploiting this, I managed to successfully create smooth gradients. That's why the real picture looks like as if it is drawn by some other mediums instead of pencil. However that is only achieved if you use your entire body weight on the pencils like me(that's why I got blisters)..

I'm not sure what you want me to say. This is way good. Shiny, reflective stuff is way hard and you've really pulled it off beautifully.

Hey you know what? If I didn't click full-view I would have thought it was a photo. Awesome job with the shading

So this is what you fell sick over...don't stress yourself too much. Get well soon ^_^

But the results was really worth the time, I must say.

Well, the thumbnail certainly looks very photorealistic. All the reflections look great :> In the larger view I can see the smears and some pencil lines, but they aren't really faults at all. From what I can tell from your gallery, you've really improved.
