Description
This pot is done in approximately 6 hours' time..I was trying to break away from representational mode to something totally abstract.. I tried to apply Futurist ideas. I even used Boccioni's forms found on his famous sculpture "Unique Forms of Continuity in Space" for the top part of the clay sculpture..
I feel that I have achieved what I wanted to achieve and I am very satisfied about my work for the first time this semester. I feel that the trainings my teacher provided for me has worked out well!
So congrats! to myself..

Err.. I didnt use the wheel.. It's a coil pot.. I made clay coils and built it up..

This is a very nice piece. I like the form of everything and the details you put into it. I'd say this was very successful.

pick some glaze and fire that thing, its very well put together... i really like carved forms like that and regret that i never did any, and now here i am with no clay and no studio! good piece though, take it to completion

I'd like to think of it as being very you... you know the other day when i was doing it the rest said it looked very 'me', with the thick flowy lines and all, they always see that in my work? haha...
but the thing is you're more advernturous, like.. you can work with so many different textures... haha you're good, but don't stop exploring 'cause you'll only get better!

Yup! N it wasnt done using throwing.. it was done using the coiling method.. I spent 2 hours doing the coiling, 2 hours on the textures and 2 hours on the top part.. 6 hours isnt inclusive of the "seed"..

That piece of Boccioni's is my all time favourite. I like this piece a lot, is impressive for 6 hours work!

That is VERY good. I especially like how you did the "Clay seed", as you call it, in the middle. The outside shell looks like it took a while to texture it.
Will you be painting this? I may or may not paint my abstract stuff.
