Story:

Upendo was Kiara and Kovu’s crown heir. As a cub he was quite playful and often joked ar with cubs his age. All except for Udoti. He never liked the cub because he was too brutish. He was unaware he was not just mocking his younger uncle, but his younger brother.

One day Upendo and Ahadi II went to the graveyard. Hyenas found them and attacked without mercy. By the time Kovu arrived, Ahadi had taken too many blows to the head and was killed. Udoti hated him and blamed him for Ahadi’s death.

As teens, Udoti and Upendo argued often, sometimes even getting physical. He over heard one day that Udoti wasn’t Simba and Nala’s cub, but Kovu and Nala’s cub. He was enraged and instantly exposed his father and grandmother. Simba and Kiara were furious, and the two were demoted to consorts where they had no power. Upendo hated his father and all respect he had for him faded.

Soon after finding out, Upendo told Udoti and belittled him for it. They had a massive fight that almost got Udoti killed. Kovu showed up to try and look for them. When he found them Udoti had already ran away from the scene. Upendo regret what happened and hoped his brother lived.

When he became a young adult, his pride was attacked by Mheetu's pride. Simba, Nala, Kovu, and almost him were killed. Kiara was left alive as a prisoner. Upendo ran after the fight feeling guilty his grandfather died trying to save him. That's when she arrived.

He wasn't far outside the Pridelands, just in the Outlands. Nzuri had found him and she confessed her love for him. Upendo was in a tight space. If he rejected her, she could expose him, if he accepted, he was put in a loveless relationship. Upendo agreed and they spent a month together. After a month he was left alone for hours at a time. He took the opportunity and ran away to the jungle his grandfather had escaped to.

He met Mzaha and fathered Zawadi with him. He taught Zawadi how to fight and took them back to the Pridelands. They fought off Mheetu's pride and killed both Mheetu and Nuka. Zawadi became king and Upendo retired. Soon into Zawadi'a reign, Nzuri returned in a panic. She wanted sanctuary for her only cub. A maned girl. Upendo told her off and Nzuri exposed the father. It was Upendo's daughter. He reluctantly let her stay. He wanted an explanation. And he would get it.
