I MISSED "RUSSIA DAY"!!!!GAHHH.
It was on Friday, November 4.
WELL............. The comic kinda explains it... ITS REALLY STUPID. xD

I just used this day as a "birthday" for Russia, for that was the only Idea I had at the time. But Nov 4 is "Unity" Day which was the day that the Polish invaders were kicked from Moscow in November 1612, and more generally the end of the Time of Troubles and foreign intervention in Russia.
Russia was taken over and invaded so much that I think that he doesnt really have a certain "birthday."

In Greek Mythology and tradition, 3 is better number then 4. There are 3 Olympian sons of Kronos (Zeus, Poseidon, Hades), 3 fates, 3 virgin goddesses (Athena, Artemis, Hestia), 3 furies, 3 hundred-handed-ones, and 3 heroes allowed to go on quests. Actually, the reason why bad things happen with the number four is because in Japan, Shii-ne is the word for "death" /and/ the number four. Thus, unlucky number that usually means death and other sad things.

Yes, but December 30 was different. Not the liberation of the nation, but the end of a civil war. Russia had many, many external wars, but the Civil war is unique because no other actual civil war was ever fought in Russia. It was a complete change from one form of government to another and signal much change in Russian society and politics. So just liberating Russia from foreigners is old news. Changing everything that made up old Russia was a good choice.
But I already knew that from Russian History. I am the biggest Non-Russian Russian History Buff on the America West Coast. I know the exact order of the Tsars all the way up to the USSR and know the folklore and culture of the nation rather fondly. I can read Russian, though speaking it is a different matter, and I have never stepped foot into the country.

Oh!? The Civil war ended in December 30? GAH! I totally fogot about that! We learned it recently, but we had to skip through it to get onto the "major stuff"- according to our teacher.
Who is to say that about another country? but we are in an advanced class.... so we cant cover everything.

There isn't an exact birth date for Russia, but the Kievan Rus', which started in 862, I believe, disintegrated under the pressure of the Mongol invasion of Rus' . But he's probably older than that. He could've been born in the 4th century, when the Slavic people were officially recognized. Or even centuries after that, when he gained independence from the Mongols . But really, we'd never know.
I quote these words:
