Description
My first try at bead embroidery!! WoohooTotally free-form, no planning, no idea of what I wanted or what I was doing...
I glued some glass pebbles to some felt and just started couching down metallic threads, then beaded in the gaps.
I love this so much!!
Had I known what it would turn out like I would have used nicer cabs! But I was just learning and I learnt a lot from this.. like just how much I want to make more!!! hehe
Any tips and hints would be helpful.
Felt, metallic threads, #15 seed beads, tri beads, hex beads, glass cabs, thread

lol! it still amazes me that it was a first try; did you use a tutorial or anything? I have been interested in bead embroidery but never knew where to begin.

Since I didn't have the net I couldn't get any tutorials. Which is prob a good thing as the bead embroiders who are online have really awesome work, it would have put me off trying in the first place or I would have tried to copy their work and not been as proud of the outcome.
I just went with what felt right... it did take a few months to finish off though. I got to a point and didn't want to work on it in case I messed it up!! hehe
It's really very easy. If you can sew beads onto fabric, then you can do it!

Oh, wow! You ARE good! lol (and I'm not just being nice; every single one of my first attempts at things are pure awful (which at least leaves me lots of room for improvement!)
I am clueless even to the basics of how to embroider with beads I am very tempted to learn and try it out, though!

heh Thanks!
Usally my first trys are abosultly awful also... I've done embroidery since I was a little girl though, so I guess the skills are the same!
I just googled it and there's a lot of free tuts out there. The stitch techniques should all be the same, so give it ago!!
