Really wonderful use of materials, again, the texture is so strong, it gives the whole piece a really nice feel

Thanks - this picture doesn't do the texture justice, really - since I used graphite powder over the glue and ink mixtures, there are soft pockets of graphite dust all along the surface. The texture play is better than I'd even planned

A well deserved fav. How long did it take you to do? I want to try something on a larger scale. The biggest I have done is 11x14... inches, heh.

It took me 24-30 hours for the whole thing, though there are a lot of layers that you can't see. My style is really about building the base up and then creating texture with the colored paper, then highlighting the paper with other media. I use 5-10 different types of paper for each collage as a result, so it's no wonder it takes me so long

your work is beautiful, btw. I love the vintage graphics you use and the clarity of each piece.

That's awesome. I couldn't imagine spemding 24-30 hours on one piece. I am determined to try it though! It must be one hell of an experience. I'm slowly increasing the size of my work. This piece you created and something from a movie I saw recently have inspired me to try something on a much larger scale, a human form, kind of like yours but 3 dimensional.
And thank you for the wonderful compliment.
