Description
Well I finally managed to finish this piece. I had a while ago gotten it fairly close to being finished before I had lost my inspiration for it. But last night that magically returned and 4 hours later it was finished.-Some reference was used for this piece-

This is amazing! The detail and sharpness of it is awesome. I also love the poses and expressions.

Very gothic.. But when you say 'some' reference used what exactly do you mean?
Maybe this should be in the photo manipulation section..

Oh, no. It does not at all belong in the photo manipulation section. What I mean is such; photo reference for the dolls were examined to influenced the picture heavily (much like one would do for sitting down with someone infront of them and hand-drawing a portrait, the person obviously acts as a visual reference) Not used literally as incorporated and then painted over or touched up or filtered or some such thing similar. Reference I use is for a visual purposes only.

I don't know Imperal, I like it, but its far too close to this [link] to just have it as an influence..

I mean, yes, they are identical, but Jacob's work is a painting. Have you looked at the rest of his work? He's just really fucking good at painting like a photograph. Why can't you applaud his talents instead of accusing him of plagiarism?

I was about to applaud the work before I did my usual tineye scan. The program scans for a digital finger print of sorts, I have NEVER seen it turn up something that was just a by eye replication without the original image being involved. I have seen the rest of his work, all of which the more photo-realistic images are based on photos which match up well enough with the original image for tineye to find, and seem to be far too well painted in comparison to the other work.
Either way, I normally just ask to see if the artist will willingly state it is a photomanip or paint over. I mean to accuse no-one, and if this is still maintained as a by eye painted replication, then fair enough. Apologies.

I don't think any artist should have to prove themselves, but if Jacob would submit a step-by-step painting, so he could prove that he's starting from scratch, and not just overlapping effects onto a photograph; that might clear the air and give him the recognition he deserves

I'm not asking for him to prove himself. I just let it be known what I think, but I've no intention to try and force or prove my view. As I have no further means to do so. A step by step would be pointless either way.

, sorry wanderlust. Anytime I've inquired about a piece before it always resolved quite nicely.

That would be due to the fact:that was the reference I used. Based heavily (very) yes, but not photomanipulation.
I liked the look and the pose, it was exactly what I wanted so I recreated within my own parameters. But not photomanipulated said image. Much like with my portraits same old ordeal. Find an image I like, and recreate it in my own fashion but to a limited extent. But with this, recreated while adding my own concept and ideas to it. I pride myself in my ability to recreate what I see. Just painted what I saw and wanted. I'll assume though you happened upon the reference picture. Otherwise I dont see the necessity of purposely looking around to add to your claim of my lack of skill.
