A Barbarian Conscript. Barbarians were an a force which once threatend civilization, a mess of pirates, mercenaries, criminals and other renegades united by the Warlord Joel Forester who managed to take over a planet and turn its industry to feed his war machine and then set about invading other worlds. To bolster their ranks, they dragooned hundreds of millions of men and women to serve in their armies, most as conscripts such as this poor bastard. Conscripts were given little training and armed with equipment which could be churned out as cheaply as possible. Their were allot of variation as each warlord had some freedom as to what his conscripts were equipped with. Conscripts were also encouraged to loot fallen soldiers for additional gear, this one has a pauldron taken off a fallen enemy. Conscripts were hardly the most reliable soldiers and were often given addictive drugs, had their families threatened, were fed plenty of false information and were given the prospect of gaining status in Barbarian society and loot to ensure loyalty. Conscript forces gradually became more effective as time went on, but eventually the Babarians were pushed back and the conscripts were gathered up and gradually re-introduced into society.
