The last year of Ian's Life had not been good. First of all he had a fight with his girlfriend Lily over who just disappeared afterwards baring the occasional post on Social Media from unknown parts. Then the Fantasy Pirate video game that he'd spent sixteen months polishing and refining that was going to be great got scrapped when the dumbasses running the company embezzled liked nuts and drove it under, leaving him unable to get another gig. Then his conservative parents berated him for not measuring up to their standards and falling in with "bad sorts". He had to take up a part time job at a call center and another loading boxes just to make bare basic rent payments after taking on an ass-hat room mate. Soon after that his car died on him. Other anxieties that he'd kept private save for a few vague comments to a couple of people were mounting up in his mind as other issues ate away at his reserves of mental discipline.

Then to his surprise he received a letter one day from Lily. It was handwritten, but it did express her sympathies in a way that seemed genuine and told him of a way he could meet up with her and possibly work something out. And so when he had time off. So he packed up and followed her directions through the forest until, to his surprise he found the house. He entered and walked down it's corridors baffled by the place. Then he heard footsteps and saw a bizzare but familiar figure approach him. A life-sized doll in an elegant gothic dress. But he recognized the face and something told him that this was not just a facsimile.

"L...Lilly?"
