Description
This is the Type-3R/b Rifle, the main service rifle of the infrastructural army. Introduced in 17 IA, it was a slight modification on the old Type-3R/a, notable for being adjusted to fire metallic cartridges. What prompted its development was not the manufacture of the weapon, which was not much diferent than its predecessor, but in regards to production of metallic cartridges in sufficient numbers. It fired a 11mm projectile and had a maximum effective range of 1,200 meters. Wounds inflicted by shot from this weapon were generally quite grievous. In addition, a trained soldier could fire off ten to fifteen aimed shots in a minute, as well as being able to do so while laying down or in the saddle. Over a hundred thousand of these rifles would be produced. For close quarters engagement a Bayonet could be attached.
