Description
Amidst the smoke and live flames, a shared glance was the most suffocating. A royal fuck-up with good intentions and a statistically solid ending from Hunter turns Hailey's fucked-up life even more upside-down in both the best and the worst ways. So many things were sacrificed by themselves for themselves; what was left for them to share, if anything?

At this point, Hunter's been doing community cleanup of his own like Gwen , but unlike her, he had been doing it under a disguise that Hailey's parents didn't need long to figure out to later reveal to their kids in private. So with that, Hailey, through the grapevine and game of telephone, got a message eventually passed to him to discuss in his most authentic self that you see here. But, of course, life's a blur for them both now that Hunter's done being a sussy baka (with Gwen) to pull a coup, and Hailey's societal adversaries that were once in control of everything are out of the picture from her skills that do kill and that mentioned coup. But here, back at the Giant's Coffin where Hunter first pleaded to Hailey's parents for her love, what remains are the cracks in her plans, the plots for caskets of those she knew before, and a bittersweet void in her heart being drilled by the anger in her mind.

But, unfortunately, neither can see the forest for the trees nor can you, viewer, with all this smoke deliberately blurring everything!

...aka defining the relationship in the demilitarized zone, except Hailey came in with arms, and Hunter has magic and size. Just everyday YA drama, you know? How did it end up? Good in the eyes of the revitalized society, a work-in-progress for Hailey, restarting at reacquaintance... but a start nonetheless.
