This is Hakkai, from Gensomaden Saiyuki. I luv this character too...he always smile so kindly...Yeah, the same artist with Son Goku. I redraw her pic, and give shade with my pencil, then I scanned it and edit the levels in photoshop.

You shading is awesome, and I think the monochrome color scheme works well for this character. You might want to resize the image, and make it smaller, though. That way your picture will look smoother.
