It does make sense. Rewind time to the beginning of ASOIAF and it's as plausible an outcome as any other one that avoids the Civil War.

The age difference is a bit more extreme. And it would mean the Stark-Baratheon kids would be lords of Winterfell rather than kings of the Iron Throne, which lessens the impact somewhat. And it would mean Cersei might have to let her precious little girl free earlier—and go to some of her family's most hated (or at least hating) rivals—which Robert wouldn't want to hear her complain about.

The age difference isn’t that huge. By the time they're in their twenties it’s well within the half plus 7 rule; and remembering that this is set in feudal environment when extreme age differences were common: look at Sansa/Tyrion, or Lyanna/Rheagar, both with far more differences than 6 years.

Oh how different the story would have been if only this were canon. No joke, I would KILL for someone to rewrite ASOIAF where Robb was happily married with Myrcella.

I believe they were going to betroth Robb to Myrcella in addition to the Joffrey/Sansa so the ship isn't necessarily wrong

I actually was a little confused why they didn't marry Myrcella to Robb in the first place.

Hey, it's not a total crack pairing! Myrcella was all cute and shy with Robb when the royal family came to Winterfell in the beginning, after all.
I really dig spoonybards' Robb, and my mental image of him started shifting to something like this thanks to her drawings of him.
