Eclipse. I got the idea of drawing him by reading Sunwing, by Kenneth Oppel.
A crazy scientist conducted an experiment on his orphaned nephew, trying to create a vampire. Idiot forgot to put blood. So he didn't get a vampire.
He got Eclipse.
So in actual fact Eclipse is a typical guy with 3/8 of his DNA converted to bat. Thats all.
Vampire bat.
The markings on his arm is actually his skin converted to that of a bat's, made into elaborate patterns due to the electrical current when the experiment was conducted.
He does bites people. Just doesn't turn them into vampires. Yet he is shunned and doesn't have a good school life.
