Description
A painting I did for friend. It's based off an old photo that was partially framed, so I had to guess a little here and there to make it work. It's been a while since I've done realism, so this was a nice excersise. I put a lot of time into the face, making sure I captured the feel right. It's one thing to draw a person, but it's something else capturing them AS a person.
Given that I'm Red-green colorblind, there's a few colors in here that I'm still not sure of, but from what I can tell, the family was happy, so I'll call that a success.
Enjoy!

...you're red-green colorblind too? Well, damn. Now I can't use that as an excuse for not being good anymore. Your use of color is just so great. I'd never have guessed! O:

Well, I tend not to announce it much. Either, people won't understand the difference between that and full on colorblindness, or I'll get the usual "Can you see this?!" questions.
It doesn't impact me much usually, aside from those few times where I can't tell if I'm drawing with red, green or gray, or when people point out flowers.

Ah, I hate the "Can you see this?!" questions.
And yeah, that's true. Thankfully when painting digitally there is always the possibility of checking the color to read it's RGB values and figure out what color it is!
