I noticed that I haven't paid homage to one of my favourite series for a while. I thought I'd make a picture of Megaman Zero this time. For keen observers, I have made MM related pictures for a while (*cough* Oekaki-gallery), I just haven't felt like making anything untill now. If you don't know anything about The Megaman series, don't worry. Look! A Picture.
I have just discovered how to use the Pen Tool in Photoshop. It makes clean lines using vectors. Ironically, the MM Zero Official art is usually pretty sketchy, so it looks a bit more "clean" than I had intended, as I ended up using the Pen Tool on the entire picture. It saved me a lot of time, although the entire picture did take... how long has it been? Well, about a week I reckon.
There are a few things I would like to point out. First of all: I have only played MMZ1 and 2, so I only know a bit of what the other two are about. Why is this? Because they don't import the games here anymore, or any MM games on Nintendo for that matter... Second: There have been large quarrels about the gender of some of the characters in this picture due to translation issues. I'm not interested in hearing comments about that, simply because I find the whole thing pretty unnecessary. (hope you understand
) Lastly: I was never really a fan of the whole underwear thing. However, I can't just leave them out, so here they are. On a related note, has reminded me of a little gag I did on that subject. It was more of a personal experiment to see if I could replicate the style I guess. Personally, I think they help set in that third diagonal for the composition. Of course, everyone has their own taste.

I simply cannot get over the cleanliness of your art. The lines are all so smooth and perfect, your coloring is superb, and you have such a wonderful sense of perspective. On top of that, it's MM fanart.. how could it get any better?

Well, this one was made with the pen-tool (semi-vectors) so I guess it won't count on lineart-cleaness. Generally though, I guess I'm a pefectionist. Usually never draw messy or sketchy unless it's part of a style. Kind of have to polish 'em to be happy with myself and all.
I guess what could be better was if I could get some original characters up here. Not really a fan-artist. But, I can't stick to just one thing, so I guess there'll be a few more fan pics yet

i love this picture and i love zero...but looking back on all of the past megaman games i start to realize...capcom has made megaman less 'sexist' (note the quotation marks) and by that i mean... almost everylast character in the megaman zero series is either really pretty or a girl...look at zero. HES IN A FRIGGIN' THONG!!!they didnt include roll but they had female characters (and bosses) added to make up for lighter man and pirate man and masqulin man...i think you might have heard my point so im going to shut up now...

I know about the gender-reducing very well (it's also made the next MM picture I'm making somewhat diffecult.) I guess it is a trend that is caused by the market really. The style that the MM zero games are made in is spesifically made to reduce differenses in gender. I can't remember it's name though. This is done so both males and females can identify with the main character. At least, that's what they say. If you've played Metal Gear Solid 2, Raiden was made with this in light and the artist was told to make him look like a mix of a man and a woman. I'm still not that supportive about the whole thong thing, but you have to remember that Megaman was made when superheroes in undies was cool. Thus, the first games were made with spandex and underwear heroes and villains. This has been dimmed down in the later games, but for some reason came back in MM Zero. I guess the thongs add to the hole gender aspect... or maybe they're consisered... futuristic? Eather way, I don't pay much attention to it anymore. I mostly pay attention to personality or design, guess I've become biast.

Wow, nice pic dedacated to one of the best GBA games out there! There is really one thing that bothers me, did the red guy or "combat nerd" have fangs that long? I lent out my game and I don't have any refrence to look at right now *sweatdrop*. On the side note, when did X die anyway?

u mean the helmet fangs?... i think they were a little longer but that's okay...O_o X died in mmz 2.
is zero now dead? cause in MM Maverick Hunter X zero dies...then in MM4 he dies! is there any connection? i am really confused! and anyway does he have a different body in X6 than the zero series?

The fangs are correcrt as far as offical art is conserned. Of course, it depends if you mean fis actual teeth or the ones his armor has. Here's some reference I used, just in case: [link] Actually, X didn't die untill Megaman Zero 2. Slight spoiler here: He was being kept in a tank in the city and transmitted his cyber-elf self to better help the world instead of fighting... or something like that. X was then tracked down ad killed by the leader of the rebelian army: Elpizo who, not surprisingly, turned out to be a real nutjob.

I only tested one and two. After that, they stopped importing any Megaman games here. (Well, apart from the X games for the PS2) Fun game.

Anyways, this picture is just really... Incredible. Seems like each new picture you post is just a hair better than your last. Seriously. It's crazy awesome how good your pictures are. Fenrir and Harpuia look a little static with their poses. Phantom and Leviathan look snazzy though.
Keep up the awesome work because I can't wait to see what you come up with next!

I couldn't just leave Roxors Boxors out. I was somewhat frustrated that I had forgotten about it the first time.
I know Harpuia and Frefnir look a bit stale. I made all the characters seperatly, apart from those two that were the same image. I didn't want to start correcting in fear of messing up the other.
A hair better than the last? What if I make a picture with a lot of hair in it?

Anyway love the pic. the smoke effects are awsome, though Harpuia's helmet looks kind of wrong. the wing things on his head. i dunno. maybe it's just me...
