Honeydew watched him go, the reapers arm infront of him holding him back from chasing the creeper turned spaceman. He watched as his friend underwent the tourment of picking up his bloodeed and bruesed body, he watched his best friends face as it turned to disgust for what he was turning into. He then watched as he ripped off his clothes and fled into the wilderness of he large jungle to the back of Ridge's castle.
"Why did you stop me?" Honeydew said morbidly "You saw how hurt he looked and yet you did nothing."
The reaper turned to him, putting a hand on his shoulderplate.
"Look Honeydew, we all need to be here if we're going to find a cure. I think I might have a small lead. To be able to get the suplies we may also need to contact Rythian, Zoeya and Teep. Along with Martyn and Toby for a few extra tree type herbs that could help. I will also need a specific amount of sulpher. Chasing him will only scare him and if he explodes again he'll only hurt himself and be even more mentally scared by the whole thing." the reaper spoke sternly, but a friendly tone rung through his voice.
The dwarf nodded and Ridge turned to Lalna, who looked away. The reaper sighed "Look Lalna i'm sorry I told you I didn't know where Honeydew and Xephos was when this first happened, I shouldn't have lied to you." he admitted. Lalna looked up at the reaper and a small, hardly controled smirk spread across his lips.
"What do I need to do?"
"I want you to go find Martyn and Toby, the last I heard they were heading to the twilight forest. Be careful" Lalna nodded before dissapearing, teleported by Ridge to Inthelittlecorp.
"Ok Honeydew I need you to go get Rythian and the other two, I need some minerals from the end and some healing magic found it a particuler and very rare kind of red mushroom. Bring them to my library once you've found them, i'll make sure the castle doesn't teleport anywhere so you know where to find me." Honeydew nodded and dissapeared aswell. Ridge was left to go back into his castle and read through some books in a hope to find what exactly these ingrediants were. This may take a while. He only hoped that Xephos wouldn't be too emotionaly scared from this whole event.
------------
It had been yet another month. His transformation, was slowing now. He had spent the past month in the same jungle biom he had ran into, and had made quiet a nice place to live in. It looked like a jungle temple and had long vines trailing down the sides.
He pushed past them and entered his home. It wasn't very big granted, especialy because of his creeper body, but it was enough.
CRACK.
A twig snapped from outside. He recognised the footsteps, it was the elf. She was in the trees.
He put his back to the wall as to not be seen.
A small but delicate thud could be heard on the ceiling. He decided to go out round the back to avoid being seen.
"Hi"
He stopped in his tracks.
"Look Xeph, you don't have to talk. You just have to listen." he stayed where he was, to hear what the elf had to say.
"Ridge thinks he's almost got it, he's been working for a month and has even got Rithian, Zoeya, Martyn and Toby's help to find the right ingredients from all over the place." Xephos didn't know how to feel, he was still set on the fact that they wouldn't be able to cure him.
"But I didn't come here to convince you to come back or anything. I understand, to other elves the Purpleblade clan were monsters. When my village was destroyed I was on my own. But your not, everyone's trying to help you and it's only a matter of patience."
she sighed. "I know what your thinking, and no, Honeydew didn't send me to look for you. I came because I thought you might be hungry." she pulled a chocolate bar from her pocket and heard a large footfall behind her.
"Want some?" she turned to the spaceman, and much to his surprise she smiled.
"I" his voice wobbled up and down and showed so much built up emotion in that one word. He nodded and Xevphera threw him the chocolate bar.
"I know that one's your favourite" the elf stood up and faced him. He was even taller now that he had his new larger legs. "You know on the way over here I ran into a testificate village. One of the boys was telling his dad about a creeper he'd seen, he'd made a small poem about him." Xephos raised an eyebrow.
"Wanna hear it?" he nodded.
"Most creepers are green..
This one doesnt seem as mean...
He just seems so sad..
Or maybe hes mad...
Why does he cry..
Through bright blue eyes?...
He only wants a hug..
He only wants love..." Xephos didn't know what to say, he had remembered a small testificate child walking near him and asking him why he was crying... He had blown up after yelling at the child to get back. Xevphera smiled at him again and he felt himself smile back.
"How's Honeydew?" he asked and she shrugged.
"Worried"
"I didn't want him to be mad at me.'
"What?! Xeph." she sighed "Xeph you're his best friend, it wasn't your fault what happened and he isn't mad at you for what's happened over the past few months."
The spaceman smiled.
"The big quesion is how have you been?"
"Surviving" this word was full of meaning and hurt. She hated to pity anyone, but right now she couldn't help it he was just so, sad.
"Look I have to go now, here." she threw him another chocolate bar. "Ridge's castle's in the same place as before, if you wanted to come back. If not and we do find the cure we'll bring it to you." she turned around and took a step fallward when she felt a scaly hand in her own.
"If you do find the cure, I want you to be the one to bring it. I don't want the others to see me like this."
The elf turned to him and nodded. His face was the same as before, the same kind eyes. Granted his hair was a little longer, but he was still Xephos as long as she was concerned.
"I'm sorry for snapping at you before. It wasn't right of me." Xevphera giggled at him and punched him in a friendly way around the shoulder.
"I'm not mad about that anymore Xeph, there's nothing to be mad about."
"Goodbye." the spaceman said quietly, like to be alone again would cripple him. The elf felt herself do something she never thought she would do in her entire life. She leant over and gave him a hug, and a small kiss on his cheek.
He felt strange. Usually whenever he felt extreme emotion he would explode, this happened atleast five times an hour due to his lonelyness and depression or anger when it came to other creatures shying away from him.
But at the moment he was the calmest he had been in months.
"Goodbye Xephs" the elf said, with that she turned, jumped off of the roof and did a front flip into the tree. Turning round she threw the spaceman another chocolate bar, waved and began making her way back the way she had come.
He watched her go and made his way back into his home. He leaned and slid down the wall.
"They havn't given up?" he looked down at himself "Wish I could say the same" and with that tears began to role down his cheeks and every drop that hit the floor echoed around the empty room.
He hugged his own arms, brought his legs up to his chest and whimpered as more tears escaped his still bright blue eyes.
"Why did you leave?" he asked to the dark room. "Why?"
