Footsteps echoed under the deep and thick ice, a few seconds later, a long, razor sharp saw was cutting through it, creating a sort of rhythm. The men above, who were working opposite each other and singing a work song in deep, manly voices.
"Born of cold and winter air, and mountain rain combining.~"
They used forked tools to push down on the now cut ice.
"This icy force both foul and fair, has a frozen heart worth mining.~"
The forks cut through where the saws had a few seconds before, and pushed the ice forward, sending it floating towards other men.
"Cut through the heart, cold and clear, strike for love and strike for fear.~"
Others pushed the ice further down with their own forked tools. A small boy walked along, he had blonde hair and a little reindeer beside him, and was eating a carrot. He gave the reindeer a bite then continued eating it himself.
"See the beauty sharp and sheer, split the ice apart.~"
Others picked the ice up with different tools, like clamps. Then, they split it in two with pickaxes.
"And break the frozen heart.~"
They continued picking up the ice with the clamps and the boy giggled as the men rushed past, towards the ice. He followed.
"Ha, ho, watch your step, let it go!"
He did as the other men did, and tried to pull some ice out with some clamps, but it dropped back in.

They then carried the ice on their backs, each singing one at a time for the next few lines of the song.
"Beautiful."
"Powerful."
"Dangerous."
"Cold."
"Ice has a magic that can't be controlled.~"
A couple of men jumped back as ice came up.
"Ice has a magic that cant be controlled.~"
Big reindeers pulled sleighs pull of ice towards the big cart as more men chopped at the ice with picks.
"Stronger than one, stronger than ten, stronger than a hundred men!~"
The boy managed to flick the ice up into the air, and when it came back down it splashed him in the face with water.

The men carried ice back to the main cart.

They chopped more ice and more, and continued taking the big blocks back to their cart.

The little boy managed to pull up the little block he'd been trying to get form the water, it fell over his shoulders.
"Strike for love and strike for fear. Split the ice apart.~"
The little boy pushed his block onto his own little sleigh and the reindeer followed, attaching himself to the harness at the front.
"Come on Sphen!" he called and they set off after the main cart.
"Beware the frozen heart...~"
