Rainy day.
Martyn walked through the trees, touching the bark as he did so. The trees around the area - Inthelittlecorp - were sad. It was raining, and dreary. He wore Toby's hoody, seen as the boy was inside and he needed to make sure the trees were going be ok. That's when he first heard them. Panicked whispers from the leaves above. Something was wrong. The trees were attempting to warn him of something. And it was urgent.
He began to climb up into the trees, to the highest point he could get in order to hear them over the claps of thunder. He made it to a small canopy inbetween the two highest trees and crouched on the branch.
"What is it? What's wrong?" He asked quietly, then waited for the answer. The wind picked up and the leaves brushed against each other. And although to most this sound was just the wind, Martyn knew what it actually was. A warning. The trees warning each other, and the old method that ent's used to warn the spirits of the forest to something catastrophic coming over the horizon. Martyn gasped and quickly began to climb down.
He fell from the bottom few branches and then quickly got up, rubbing his saw hip where he'd fallen, as he began to make his way back to the base. He hoped Toby hadn't come looking for him as he attempted not to slip on the mud on the way back.
"Toby?!" He shouted as he ran inside. His hood had fallen down, so it picked it back up to hide his messy wet hair. "Toby!" he ran over to the brown haired boy and hugged him.
"Martyn? What's wrong?" Toby asked, panicking slightly.
"Nothing! Everything's... everything's fine! I just need you to stay inside for now!" The blonde began packing things away and taking things from the chests rather hurriedly.
"But why?"
"Because I said so!" He turned to Toby, his tone a little too harsh, unlike his usual friendly tone. "...I...It's thundering really bad out there... I don't want you getting scared..." He added, quieter. "Sorry..." He then ran to the door, pulling Toby's jumper off and throwing it back to him before pulling his own red cape from the hook and throwing it over his shoulders, tying it up at the shoulders and then holding his arm out for the jumper again. Toby stood watching him, slightly scared.
"Are... are you alright Martyn? You... You'd tell me if something was wrong right?"
"Of course!"
"Alright... I trust you..." The boy handed Martyn his hoody and then gave a small smile before getting back to work.
Martyn watched him for a moment as he put the hoody back on. "Ill be back soon..."
The boy nodded.
Martyn frowned slightly and turned away. "Sorry..." He walked out of the door, grabbing his emerald sword from the other side before he did.
------------
He was running along the treetops, leaping from one branch to another, all the while hearing the worried whispers from his friends. As he made his way to the horizon, he saw it. A field of sand. Slowly creeping towards his forest. HIS forest.
He growled and leapt down from the tree he was perched on, landing on both feet and unheeding his sword slowly.
"ISRAPHEL!" he shouted as loud as he could. This was when the trees took action, they blew furiously in the wind, attempting to scare and warn their king away from the confrontation. But it was too late... a deep whisper came from behind him...
"Martyn..."
