Xephos sat on the metal bed, looking across the room at the blueprints that were scattered across the walls. He turned to the door, where outside Ridge and Lalna were talking about what was to happen. He looked back to the wall as the two looked through the glass to him.
He brought his knees up to his chest and hugged them tightly, burying his chin and mouth in them.

"You need to take him back to the park and keep him there." the reaper stated. "The process may be faster than we think."
"Yes, I understand that, but my point is that he wouldn't want to be alone with another change. I mean first the creeper transformations and now this! He needs his friends with him, not to be kept in a cage."
"Lalna." Ridge put his hand on the scientists shoulder and leant forwards a bit so that he could look him in the eyes. "Trust me, if he changes then he wont have any friends left to be around him. He's a risk. To everyone, including himself."

He feared what was going to happen, he knew that Lalna wouldn't call Ridge incase it was bad. Very bad. Would he change again? He still had small scars on his front from where his second pair of legs has grown, where the villager had... he clung to his legs even tighter. He didn't want to be alone again.
The other two walked through the door. "Xeph, we're..." Lalna began, but stopped when he saw that the spaceman was wiping tears from his eyes. "Xeph..."
"Just... Just take me away." the spaceman said in a dull tone which crippled even the reapers heart. "I don't want to hurt anybody."
"We're going to help you Xeph." the reaper stepped forwards.
There was no answer.
"Hey!" Ridge shook the spaceman by his bad shoulder, which made him wince and groan in pain. He looked the reaper in the eyes, his own full of tears. "We helped you before. We will again."
"Xeph, trust us." Lalna said as he yanked Ridge's hand back and glared at the reaper.
Still no answer.
"Well... We'll let you get some rest, and we'll go to the park in the morning."
And with that, they left the spaceman to his thoughts.
