New beginnings.
Ridge had decided to make a new world, after all, he had preserved a lot of his reaper powers, and while it did drain a lot of power from him, making it a bit trickier than when he was a demi-god, he still decided it was time.
He had spawned in the middle of nowhere, brilliant. What's worse was that when he was telling the spaceman, Xephos, about his plan to make a new world, Xephos had taken it as an opportunity to give the reaper a challenge. One he had not agreed to in a long time. To start a fresh without any reaper power, and without anything from the old world (bar his hats). He remembered the looks of humour on the spaceman's face when he had agreed to the spaceman's terms, and he had agreed to keep a note of most of the things he did, whenever he died, what he found, if he did anything 'nooby'. He decided to do this in a form of recording, he was sure the spaceman would have fun listening to his random rambles as he tried to find what he needed. At least he knew he wasn't just talking to himself.
While the challenge would be fun, regretfully it meant that he didn't have any of his previous tools. No armour, weapons, picks. He had to start completely fresh. So he was sort of relieved when he bumped into a village, right next to a mooshroom biome. Interesting. Well, it seemed only logical to block all the doors so that the villagers and zombies didn't annoy him to hell, he still needed most of his sanity, seen as he was alone in this world. He had programmed in the chance of the others spawning somewhere or other, but he doubted it. He had only added a 14% chance that half of them would, for the most part, he thought it very unlikely to see any of them.
Back near where he spawned, he had noticed a castle. Perhaps a good place to check out later, keep things interesting for Xephos and anyone else who wanted to listen when he returned. That was the one reaper power he still obtained, the ability to pass from one world to another, purely to get back to the one he came from once his little venture was over. He didn't plan on staying here forever. Of course, he wasn't allowed to take anything from the other worlds, so it was a bit useless at the moment. Still, the village had some very interesting things. He had noticed while looking round - after blocking all the doors - there were hops, carrots, wheat, alchemy stations, a blacksmiths, a brewery where he could drink ale to his hearts content. Brilliant. As first ventures in a new world go, this one was a lot more interesting than some of the others.
He started by searching all the homes for different tools, because to him, tool gathering from scratch was very annoying. After not finding a lot other than some wading boots and a few saplings, he decided to go out, collect some food, and then find some cows to get their leather. He wanted to make something.
Tool gathering was always very boring to him, he didn't understand why Notch didn't create them with the ability to spawn with weapons. Oh well.
He talked to himself constantly, well, to the recorder constantly, so that the spaceman would know everything that was happening when he got back and let him listen to it. He did have a few strange moments, random voices and drabbles and rambles about different things that were... in hope for a better word, very unusual.
Another thing that he had noticed about the village was that under certain parts, there was sewage. Gross, brown sewage. He wasn't too happy about this, but ignored it, until while hunting cows, he fell into one of the pools, he then spent the next ten minutes moaning about how the villagers were 'filthy animals' who should find somewhere else to put their sewage. After he had finally calmed down, he went for a dip in some water, and then decided to look through the mooshroom biome, finding some mycelium, and some actual mooshrooms! The last time he had come through here, just after collecting the food from the village, he was ambushed by skeletons, and had to spend the night in a small hole next to one of the food patches. Not fun. By morning he had regained all his health and by that point he had made an iron sword, so went on a bit of a zombie killing rampage. And while he knew Rythian enjoyed the taste of brains that the mumbling zombies dropped, he wasn't so keen.
Through the mooshroom biome he went, and, not really seeing anything of interest, he decided to start walking back before it got dark, after all he had decided to stay at the village for a while, simply to gather food, and at this point he had made two backpacks to carry more stuff, and so would make a little base at the village, fill up his packs and then probably head to the castle, or make somewhere for himself.
Heading back was a little less uneventful than the last night, which was a bit of a relief. If he died, he wouldn't have anywhere closer to spawn and would spawn back in the middle of nowhere, with none of his tools. Not something he looked forward to.
