The North Pole - 300 years later
"Dun dun, dun dun, dun-dun!~" a block of ice dropped onto his desk as he 'dunned' along to the music. A saw cut through it loudly. On his left arm, was tatood the word 'naughty' with louds of names around it, and on the left, 'nice', again with names around it. "Still waiting for cookies!" He shouted back over his shoulder in a Russian accent. The little elves that were standing together a little bit away stopped licking the cookies and stopped faceplanting them and looked up. "Da, da, da, da da!~" He spun round in his seat and grabbed a cookie from the plate the tiny elve was carrying. "ZUN!" he sorted through his tools and found a tiny chizzle. "Dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, ZUN!" he began chipping away att he ice. "Bah, bah, bah, bah, ZUN!" he looked through a magnifying glass, his grey eyes sparkling as he carefully smoothed out a bit of the ice. "Bum bum bum bum bum, DA DA DA DA!" he put his arms out the small ice train in his right. He blew off the dusk from where he chizzled it and chuckled as he placed it on an icy track, it tooted and blew out smoke. Next to him, the elves stood holding the plate of cookies. One had a full mouth and the other gestured towards the plate, causing the other to spit the cookie back out. He took a cookie and ate it, sitting back to look at his masterpiece. "Finallly! It's done!" he leant forward and looked at the train chugging round. He laughed to himself and the train slowly flew off the tracks, swimming around in the air magically growing wings. "DAHHHH!" he sang, but all of a sudden, the magic was over, as a big yeti opened the door, smashing the train into a million little icey bits.
"We wa yar!" The yeti called in another language.
"AH!" Honey-Claus exclaimed, looking down at the ice bits.
"OOOH!"
"AHHH!"
"OOHOHH!"
"Uhhh..." he closed his hands together and brought them up to his face. "How many times have I told you TO KNOCK?!"
"da sha ba dahs!"
"What? The globe?" He squinted his eyes at the yeti and grabbed his sword.
------------
The elves all stood around, and he walked past, they were no bigger than his ankles. "Shoo, with your pointy heads. Why are you always under boot?" He walked up to the big globe that sat in the middle of his workshop, twinkling brightly with golden lights. Something was wrong, the lights were flickering. "What is this?" He looked at the lights bewildered in the darkest of ways. "Have you checked the axis?" he asked the yeti that stood next to him. "Is the rotation balanced?!" he asked the other on, who made a strange noise. All of a sudden, the globe grew strange black tendrils from its peak, which wrapped around it, making a shrieking noise unlink anything they'd ever quite heard. The blackness wrapped around it like black tentacles, covering it within a few seconds. Papers blew about the room as a cold chill whipped around and around. Honey-Claus narrowed his grey eyes at the globe as the elves worriedly ran around in circles. The blackness rose up to the top in a whirlwind and exploded at the summit. A black shadow blew behind Honey-Claus and up back around the other side of the globe, growing and forming into the shape of a man, laughing sinisterly. It then faded away into nothing. Honey-Claus stepped forward. "Can it be?" he turned to the elves. "DINGLE!" four dopey looking elves stepped forward. "Make preparations. We are going to have company." he put his hand to a strange lever that sat in front of him, then twisted it, causing it to shine with a twinkling blue light, before pushing it down. Purple, pink and blue lights all mixed together on the globe and glowed upwards. The lights spread like tendrils from the base and spread across the mountains, looking like the northern lights.
------------
A little fairy fluttered around a room, then dived to the little boys pillow, searching for the tooth and leaving behind a shiny golden coin. It flew back out and smiled, before flying out of the window, chirping, its feathers resembling the same kind of colouring as a humming bird. It flew back towards its base, along with many, many other fairies. The base was a colourful castle raised high up on the summit of a cliff, the ruler of which, being, none other than the tooth fairy, Exza. The fairy flew round to a little compartment with the boys face on it, it opened to show a row of holes, each for a tooth in the mouth. The fairy dropped it in and flew back up to a device, landing on a switch and picking up the new assignment that rolled towards it. It flew over to Exza, who was giving instructions to the other little fairies. "Wait!" She called, then looked at the assignment. "Aww, it's her first tooth! Have you ever seen a more adorable lateral incisor in all of your life?" she asked excitedly. "Look how she flossed!" She smiled to the little tiny fairies, who chirped back, but then turned and looked to the bright lights that were shining in the sky. Exza gasped, and flew towards the lights in the North Pole, a small trail of fairies behind her.
------------
"My fellow guardians." Honey-Claus said. "It is our job to watch over the children of the world."
------------
A rain of sand crept over a little boys head, he smiled in his sleep as he dreamed about footballs. The trail lead back to a cloud of golden sand.
------------
"To keep them safe. To bring wonder, hope and dreams."
------------
On top of the cloud sat a little man, with spiked up golden hair.
------------
"And so, I have called us all here for one reason, and one reason only."
------------
The little man, who was the sand man, also known as Lalna, looked towards the north, and saw the lights.
------------
"The children are in danger."
------------
His cloud transformed into an old fashioned spitfire plane, and he flew towards the pole, a pair of piloting goggles now positioned over his eyes.
------------
"An enemy we have kept at bay for centuries..."
------------
A blur of like blue fur and green eyes hopped through a tunnel as fast as it could, bouncing off the walls and being careful not to break the little eggs that were standing there. The blur, who was the Easter bunny, also known as Martyn, ran through the tunnels, his long ears twitching.
------------
"Has finally decided to strike back. We alone can stop him."
------------
He ran through the tunnels, leaving behind a few saplings where he hopped. Next minute, he disappeared, and in the mountaintops next to the pole, a hole opened up, some long bunny ears peeking out of it. He jumped out, standing up grandly, but then, realising how cold it was, shivered. "Aww, it's freezing!" He cried in an Australian accent, before hopping towards the pole. "Ah! Cant feel my feet! I CANT FEEL MY FEET!"
------------
"Eggnog? Anyone?" Honey-Claus asked as the biplane flew down into the base. The little sandman flew down gracefully in front of the others. Martyn was shivering and trying to warm himself up, while Exza was giving instructions to the little fairies she had with her. "Lalna! Thank you for coming!"
Lalna shrugged.
"I know, I know, but I obviously wouldn't have called you all here unless it was serious."
Exza shushed her little fairies and turned to listen.
"The boogy man was here!"
Martyn's ears perked up as a look of shock plastered itself across his face.
"AT THE POLE!"
Exza gasped. "Ryth? Ryth Black? Here?"
"Yes! There was black sand covering the globe!" He motioned with his hands and Martyn hopped up behind him.
"W-What do you mean black sand?" He asked, almost unimpressed by this.
"Like a black shadow!"
"Hold on, hold on, I thought you said you saw Ryth?" Martyn was now next to him, a little egg in one hand and a paintbrush in the other.
"Well er... not exactly..." Honey-Claus rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly.
"Not exactly? Can you believe this guy?" Martyn looked to Lalna, who now had a question mark of sand forming above his head due to his inability to speak. "Yeah, you said it Sandy."
"Look." Honey-Claus said. The little fairies were flying up to him, listening intently. "He's up to something very bad. I feel it! In my belly!" He put his hands to his belly and jiggled it up and down.
"Hang on, hang on, You mean to say, you summoned me here three days before easter, because of your belly?! Mate, if I did this to you three days before Christmas!"
"Eh, bunny." Honey-Claus patted Martyn's cheek. "Easter, is not Christmas!" He chuckled and took the egg off of Martyn, throwing it up slightly and catching it again.
"Ehehe, here we go." He hopped after Honey-Claus. "Look, I don't have time for this!"
Lalna watched them as an elf licked his little cup of tea. He pulled it away and gave the elf an annoyed look as Exza gave her fairies more instructions.
"I still have two million eggs to finish up!"
"No matter how much you paint, it still egg."
Lalna looked to the moon as it shone down on the globe. The peculiar thing being that it was the middle of the day. He dropped his cup and pointed up to it, but no one was watching.
"Look mate, I'm dealing with perishables! Right, you've got all year to prepare!"
"WHAT?!"
Lalna tried to whistle to them, but no noise came out.
"Why are rabbits always so nervous?"
"And why are you always such a blowhard?"
"Is that all in one house?" Exza asked her little fairies.
"TOOTH!" Honey-Claus shouted. "Can't you see we're trying too argue?"
"Sorry, not all of us get to work one night a year. And I right Lalna?"
Lalna pointed upwards, to an arrow of sand that sat above his head. It pointed towards the moon. Exza gasped, but then turned to her fairies instead of where he was pointing.
"San Diego, you!" She continued to give orders.
"Look, Ryth went out with the dark ages, you know, we made sure of it." Martyn stated.
Lalna dropped his shoulders in an annoyed way but then looked to an elf who had a little bell on the tip of his hat.
"I know its him." Honey-Claus answered. "We have a serious situation!"
Lalna hopped next to the elf with a look of annoyance. He picked the little elf up as the others argued about things and continued giving instructions.
"Well I've got a serious situation with some eggs!"
Lalna shook the elf and the others stopped talking and turned to him at the sound of the bell tingling. He dropped the elf, who fell onto its back, and pointed up to his head, a small moon appearing above it in sand, then up to the actual moon, that still shone down onto the floor next to them.
"Ah! Man in moon!" Honey-Claus stated, holding his arms out as he turned to face the moon. "Lalna, why didn't you say something?"
Lalna clenched his fists together as sand flew out of his ears.
"It's been a long time old friend!" Honey-Claus shouted up to the moon. What is big news?"
The moon shone down brightly as everyone watched. It shone to a circle in the ground surrounded by four triangles. The shadow from before spun round on the round."
"It is Ryth..." Martyn stated and turned to Honey-Claus, who patted his belly.
"What must we do?" Honey-Claus asked the moon. The moon continued to shine, which caused the circle to split in two and open, a bright white light glowing from within. A crystal rose up through the floor in front of them.
"Uh, guys, you know what this means?" Exza asked.
"He's choosing a new guardian!" Honey-Claus answered in wonder.
"What?!" Martyn asked. "Why?!"
"Must be big deal. Manny thinks we need help."
"Since when do we need help?!"
"I wonder who its gonna be!" Exza stated excitedly, her and her fairies leaning closer. Lalna smiled and a four leaf clover rose above his head. "Maybe the leprechaun?" She asked.
"Please not the groundhog, please not the groundhog..." Martyn preyed quietly. A bright blue light slowly built up form the top of the crystal, forming into a person. They all watched with anticipation.
Finally, the picture morphed into a teenage boy, who wore a hoodie with the hood draped, hiding his face other than his smirk. In his hand, he held a staff.
"...Xeph Frost..." Honey-Claus said in surprise.
The little fairies all looked like they were melting as they thought of Xeph Frost. One of them fainted.
"Uh, I take it back, the groundhogs fine." Martyn stated.
Exza was lying in the air, looking at the image of Xeph dreamily. She came back to her senses. "A-as long as he helps to protect the children... right?" She asked, smiling as her little fairies cooed.
"XEPH FROST?!" Martyn asked angrily. He scoffed ."HE DOESN'T CARE ABOUT CHILDREN! Alright, all he does is freeze water parks and mess with my egg hunts! Alright!" He hopped towards the image. "He's an irresponsible, selfish-"
"Guardian." Honey-Claus finished.
"Xeph Frost is many things, but he is NOT a guardian!"
They all stood and looked at the image of Xeph Frost. They would have to wait and see.
